G130 YCF my first sprint car

i have to be honest...i pushed the issue. Demon Tweeks say its good for a certain spec, but varley rate the 5 as suitable for bike engines...and i dont think it's quite enough capacity for a roadgoing car. The replacement is a monster and only 1kg heavier for a total of 2 kg ...win win

Gearbox T5 problems, update to fit RX8 6 speed box

i was going down this route on the 6a but ended up with the ti to sort and darryl ended up selling the car, so i didnt manage to sort it. speedo drive is relatively simple and uses a smiths speedo from a mk 3 xj6 (electronic) so wont look out of place ...i posted all the details on the rx8 page and ...

Mine seems to hit the clutch slave cylinder too - apparently there’s a Mazda slave that fits. I went for the 5 speed, ratios look better for the Scimitar.
slave for a mazda 6 fits nicely...have a look at the rx8 adapter page on facebook

the friction plate is a 6 puck and sprung centre, so it should be fairly civilised....just not sure how civilised the rest of it is going to be

G130 YCF my first sprint car

for anyone that fancies having a go themselves, it's as straightforward as it looks. The collars set the crownwheel's position relative to the pinion, it's a bit of a balancing act between setting the backlash and bearing preload, but a dti shows whats going on. Best tip i can give is to tighten the...

had to take about 2.5 mm off the lumpy bit...apparently it's a thing when squeezing a quaife in...seems odd, but that really is the only way it was going in there ...even then it's a finger biting job. Darryl finished the rebuild with a little advice here and there from me, it's actually more straig...

G130 YCF my first sprint car

Well done that man...about the only thing i would have done different would be to put the crown wheel in the oven for an hour at 100 c and used the 4 bolts to pull it on, the book says to use new bolts (available from burtons at £1.50 each ) but thats not a bother. The job is almost done at this poi...

i honestly dont know, but the reliant shafts should fit the diff. If you used the flanged setup i'm guessing you would need new drive shafts made to suit ?

Well (excuses in early )...after all the pre curbs action and since finding out i'm not as young as i used to be...a kicking from that recent flu bug and the weather, ive finally got round to pulling the diff out...pita job i dont really want to do again, but the diff and cradle are out and ready fo...
