Nice and shiny Istrian Blue
It was either going to be blue or white  It just so happened that RR had a set of shiny blue panels available.

Corky's Scimitars (..and now an SS1 race car build)

Not much has progressed on the car over the last couple of weeks. I finally got the MR2 seat rails trimmed and drilled to fit the new cross-members. Whilst I was at it I created a recess in the square tube so that the bolts were not exposed below the rails. The seat is now bolted into place, and I'm...

Spot the Scimitar - fun caption quiz

Looks like the tow cable is still connected to the launch plane. Very Scimitaresque.... When I tried learning to pilot a glider, the local club used to use a winch with two big American V8s attached, made a lovely noise. Seeing that string brings back memories of being told to correct the yaw. https...

Hood seal - heartbroken

If we're talking about the square section rubber strip? It's the same as an MGB.

I was leaving it there on the basis it had passed before but get the feeling I should move it.

If it is going on the floor in front of the seat is ok fixed to the GRP floor perhaps with some spreader plates?
It should be OK fixed through the GRP floor. Put some big washers on the underside.

Hasn't been scrutineered at Anglesey or Aintree...

Ben's SS1 - SSF novice sprint car

I thought that too when I got the car from Barry, but it has passed scrutineering this season. Personally I'd put it on the floor in front of the passenger seat, then it's easy to pull the pin out if you notice it's still in place as you drive to the start line.... been there done that  That ro...

1982 GTC project gumtree

There are a couple of photos of the webbing I replaced on GTC 404 here http://www.scimitarweb.co.uk/sgwrs/viewtopic.php?t=5721&start=240 . You may have to refresh the page to get the photos due to the Photobucket issue. I reused the original clamps after giving them a clean and a coat of paint, they...

Corky's Scimitars (..and now an SS1 race car build)

The Lotus seat arrived...... https://i.imgur.com/6XONKCf.jpg ....and it fits the space really well. Trouble is, I just think it's too small for me. The MR2 seat feels like a better solution, as it has a height adjuster and it reclines. Meaning that I can get properly comfortable, and it'll adjust ea...
