Would you consider this in your Scimitar?

I would definitely go for electric power in a new car if the range was sufficient. As for putting it in a classic, no thanks. I really cannot see the point. Unless to the factory built E-type mentioned earlier

ss1 vented discs - mg metro calipers

did the sabre have differet hubs? No they're the same hubs across the SS range. I understand that years ago there was some confusion of the spec' of a new Sabre (that never happened), and parts books were updated accordingly. The hang over from this is that many parts books now quote the wrong brak...

I think Mark Wilson aka gtcse8 produced some of these discs, not sure what the donor disc was and what machining work he had to do. It might be worth dropping him a pm and asking him if he has any for sale.

What cars did you see today? (Non-Scimitar)

Saw a pile of classic cars from a Capri to an ah3000. They are doing a tour of the UK driven by their German owners who are members of a classic car club in Hamburg. They were at shrigly hall Cheshire! About a mile away from me then Greeny. I saw a few classics around the village on Friday and Satu...

Sabre Ti Cheshire Cheese.

I think the new owner plans to use it this season. Also I don't want to risk it now I've reached a deal. It wasn't an easy decision to sell, but the deal works for me and keeps another car in competition. I was going to return it to road spec' and keep it. I would like to do Prescott, but I don't th...

Sabre Ti Cheshire Cheese.

OK, time to come clean  I've taken a deposit on the Sabre and it'll be going to a new home in the next three weeks. It is remaining in competition specification, so I have no doubt that it'll be out again next year. I'm now putting all my efforts into getting the Golden Wonder (temporary name :...

1800ti Clutch

I've not managed to get an engine out on its own. Tried and failed ! The sump got caught on the welded crossmember and it took me hours to sort it all out. It would've been much quicker pulling engine and box as one lump. For the sake of undoing a few bolts, speedo drive, a couple of plugs and the g...

There are some photos of the one I fitted to my Ti here http://www.scimitarweb.co.uk/sgwrs/viewtopic.php?t=17113&start=1080 . You may need to refresh the page to see the photos, as they're suffering from the Photobucket curse. If you move on through that thread, there are a few more of it fitted to ...

radiator temp sender

If you want to get even lower (I can't see the point myself), you could use a three pin switch (as used for twin fan systems) and use the lower switching range (mid 70's to mid 80's).

This the one I have http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Golf-MK2-Ford-Universal-Fan-Switch-2B9-/281216575671?_trksid=p2349526.m2548.l4275 It switches on at around 89'c and off at around 82'c (temps taken via an IR thermometer at the switch). As I'm using the Golf rad, I also fitted the shrouded Gol...

Great photos Roger, thanks for posting them.

I hadn't realised I'd lifted a wheel. It felt like I was maybe lifting a rear at "flagpole" on the return to the crossover, as I always seemed to be spinning up as I unloaded the left rear.
