CM Dinner and Presentations evening

Great night in great company. The CM guys made us feel very welcome indeed, we really enjoyed ourselves. My photos are very blurred  . I think I know why. However, one turned out OK. Here’s Ben collecting his mahoosive Best Novice award along with Andy’s Novice runner up. 58C02319-A92C-4BDC-902...

Swoakes SS1 DET Sprint Car plan for 2019 on

Under CM rules, you could enter one of the MSA classes at an event and go for the scratch time pots. You don’t have to be in the CM class if you don’t want to be. Maybe you could have the best of both Worlds?

Ben's SS1 - SSF novice sprint car

This is from one of my project threads. Shows the b’stard nut  This is the nut. But of course the only way in is from the top of the manifold, between the engine block. So Trevor's loop spanner looks spot on. http://i657.photobucket.com/albums/uu291/stevecork/Sabre%206/cd863aec.jpg With a 1...

Not yet but I definitely want to do that too, what master cylinder do I need?
Either an SE6A with sawn off bolt to partially fill the locator hole, or one of my specials

Have you upgraded the master cylinder as well? You’ll need at least 22mm with those bad boys or your pedal will have a very long stroke.

The b*stard but need not be a problem. You just need the tools to suit.

Reminds me of a Billy Connolly quote ”there’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes”.

One problem with the elbow is the availability of the gasket to the exhaust flange. I bought one from QRG when I rebuilt the car, but it wasn’t perfect and took some “adjustment”. Kidney gasket on other side is always worth changing anyway. Hence suggesting breaking that joint rather than elbow to d...

Regarding the turbo should it be removed from the exhaust elbow or Leave elbow on turbo.... Does the oil need draining? Cheers You’ll need to drain most of the coolant. Leave the elbow on the exhaust, easier to disconnect the turbo from the elbow. Try and get a turn on the B’stard nut before loosen...

I’m ok for any of the dates proposed.

Wacky suggestion what about a video Skype type meeting?

Cheers
We’re on the same wavelength Ben. I suggested that in the other thread

Drivers Meeting Proposed date 10th November

I’m not averse to having one via Skype or some sort of teleconference. So long as the agenda is agreed in advance and any motions to change any rules can be voted on, it could work.

BBS alloys

Rainsport 3 are very popular with sprinters, and they do last pretty well in a light car like the SS1. In fact the winner of this year’s Classic Marques championship won with them on his supercharged MX5.

Quite an endorsement. And they’re very cheap too.

I think there’s a Nankang 1B in 225/45/15.
