Looking for a project SS1

Yes I've seen it. The wife loved it says I can have it but it's all done nothing for me to fix. Wife's not that keen on the SS1. The other cars I've done have given me more pleasure getting them back on the road than actually driving them, is that sad or what. No it’s not, I totally get that. I’ve ...

Beware sending a BACS payment to QRG

Really sorry to hear of your predicament Ant, I really hope you get your money back. You’re definitely not alone, I believe people have been scammed for the entire value of a house when a solicitor’s email account had been hacked. Scary stuff. I hate paying by BACS, so tend to send a token payment f...

What cars did you see today? (Non-Scimitar)

Lots of modern Jap/Chinese pickups about nowadays. Though there are still quite a few Renault 4 & 12 types.

Could be a nod to the colours of the Turkish flag.

I keep looking out for an Anadol but not seen one yet.

I always enjoy seeing the recycled Western European cars in the East. Some badged Renault some Dacia, not sure who the manufacturer of the FIATalike is.

Looking for a project SS1

Jim is definitely a 3rd type of owner. He owns a third of all the Scimitars ever built

Though most of them are probably on his shelves

Looking for a project SS1

They’re not the best looking Scims, but are by a margin the most fun (IMHO of course, but I have owned most of the others). Not had a 1600 SS1, but I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be at least 95% of the fun of a Ti  :w I’ve had several CVH powered Fords back when they were new cars. They...

Personally I wouldn’t bother. Just an added failure point imho.

SHOCK CHOICE

Why would you need to remove the shocks to make a height adjustment?

It’s a simple C spanner adjustment. You need to jack the car up to take the weight off the shock, but you don’t need to remove it.

You’ve no sense of adventure Phil. Don’t listen to Mr 1300 CVH  , get yourself a Ti  A project is a project. Nothing difficult about breathing life into the Nissan CA18ET. Fault diagnosis can be difficult awkward, but worth it in the end. Edit:- changed 2nd difficult to awkward. Don’t kno...

Looking for a project SS1

Thanks philynnbob, I'd seen it on e'bay yesterday and the bidding looked like it was going to go for a lot of money, ie a lot of bids in a short period of time on a new listing but it now seems to have slowed down. I'am going to keep my eye on it. Thanks Steve That looks like it’s worth a punt. I p...

No ignition light

Graham had some washed bottles a few years back. Maybe worth a call. It’s not an uncommon problem for washer fluid to be dumped into the ignition module on a gtc. Generally it tracks into the plugs and that’s when the verdigris develops and the connections weaken. It’d be worth giving these a thorou...

G130 YCF my first sprint car

I’d have to look in my boxes of bits. I’ll not be able to check until Saturday.
