SE6a Not Starting Only Turning Over

Totally right Jim, glad you spotted my deliberate mistake
I'll read the manuals I have and check the floats. I'm a trifle in awe of taking apart such a complex instrument as a Weber

SE6a Not Starting Only Turning Over

congrats to JC29CDO. Noticing that this thread is entitled 'not starting only turning over' may I keep to the symptom but change the target. My GTC ( Cologne with 38DCOH and K&N filter and manual choke ) exhibits similar effects. After standing for a few days it will crank fo what seems an age but u...

GTC Tonneau cover

It has long been my wish to use my GTC with the hood down as much as possible. The aerodynamics are such that at all but the slowest speeds light / moderate rain will pass over the passengers. But what happens when you stop in the suremarket car park? An easy to erect cover is needed to protect the ...

Correct GTE 6B Manuals.

This short thread prompts me to ask Jim K ( or indeed anyone else reading along) if the most relavent manual for 6b and SE8 is factory manual (part no 91602). I do have a paper copy of "the Cologne supliment" I am coming to the conclusion that there is no manual that deals with the differences betwe...

My SE6a Over Heating Cure

It seems to me that this link is relavent to this discussion http://www.scimitarweb.co.uk/sgwrs/viewtopic.php?f=3&p=450914#p450914 My GTC has been suffering with overheating problems and so I have been toying with the idea of doing something like justfur has done. Scimitar SE5a starting issues

Peter, Your comments noted, thanks for the help. I've been looking at a Facet red top pump. an Intertia switch is already in my shed ( We didnt worry about these things when I drove around in a MG TC with a ticking SU pump - as an aside the pump stopped once in Belgium but I got it working again by ...

Scimitar SE5a starting issues

Peter, what type of electric fuel pump would you recommend ? I am thinking of fitting one but using it exclusivly, ie taking out the mechanical one.
The car is a GTC '84 and it starts perfectly at the first successful ignition but only after a lot of cranking after standing for a day or two.

Cologne Engine

2.8 Cologne engine wanted for rebuild. As complete as possible please but I could manage with out alternator, PAS pump, carb and, at a pinch, starter.
Old and worn out is OK but must be recondition-able.

Travelling tools & Spares

With the prospect of warmer days and more / longer journeys I've been thinking about what tools / spares I should put into the boot. So I ask the collected wisdom herein for suggestions. Assume an SE6 or SE8, assume UK travel, assume having to stop at the roadside in open country, assume also that y...

Multi switch (Head/dip lights, indicator, horn)

Can I ask PlasticMan if he knows of a special tool or technique to remove the pins from the 9 pin plug that mates with the SE6 / SE8 loom.
I too am trying to recover from failure of the Lights / horn multiswitch. Some wires may need to be moved about.
