4 Scimitars Up For Auction 16th May

These prices are good news.
Good cars are getting towards the level these deserve. :D
Did you notice the Scimitars got much better prices than the MG Midgets? Only a few years ago it was the other way around.

Timing gear change Cologne 2.8

When I owned a GTC, I did a crankshaft seal renewal, which is about the same amount of work. I did it as an engine out job (including rear seal and clutch renewal). The main pulley is a pain in the **** to undo. A friend of mine did a timing gear renewal just a few weeks ago on his se6b. He also had...

RHD Scimitar on Catawiki

This car has been advertised for a while now, in the hands of several owners. Price has gone up. And now going down? Current trader is asking too much IMHO. As is: he is asking too much for everything in his stock.

The wider calliper was only available on the Metro turbo - certain not the most common variant unless European Metros had them?
According to Dutch dealer partslists the smaller version was only used on the economy models. All other trimlevels had the wider type, including the MG and turbo.

SS1 Ti parts wanted ... the list goes on

Calipers are the more common wide version, only budget Metros had the small version.
Steering rack an f/s parts are Opel/Vauxhall parts bin specials.
Main rack parts is Opel Kadett C/C2 mixed with Ascona B / Manta B parts. That would make it easier to source locally.

newly listed on Ebay 6b in Italy

If your car is in good order, it will sell. Prices in France and Germany are better than in the UK. So just be patient. Selling a rare classic is all about patience.
