thanks for that thing is the turbine housing is quite corroded where the centre core clips in and also the waste gate hole has some cracks coming so problems aren't restricted to just the core :(

Local turbo specialist in the Netherlands. I could ask him for the part no and where it came from (UK I think!) if necessary
that may come in usefull if its not to much hassle thanks.

I had same problem with oil leaking out of turbo, mostly inlet side.New overlapping seals, refacing of some bits and re-balanced. Was fine for a couple of years but then came back. After some tests etc, replaced centre turbo housing with a new one (non-water-cooled as original was not available) an...

If it's been standing, it'll probably just be some crud burning off the exhaust manifold. A good run usually sorts it out. If you take the heat shield off, you'll get a better view just in case it's something a bit more serious, like the oil feed pipe leaking. yes will do thanks had a real good loo...

Take a look at my SS1 Ti thread as I had a similar issue. There is a video of smoke from memory Click the link in my signature below  Edit Just been reading the thread. Fix was to increase tickover to 1200rpm and just drive the car. When laid up turbo seals can dry out and distort. Best fix i...
