Registering a Vehicle of Historic Interest

Registering a Vehicle of Historic Interest

If you want a simple answer its this...i take it your car is registered as historic already ,if so allow the mot to run out then go online to retax your car and you will just have to tick one box stating no mayor mods....thats it , you then have a reset one years free tax and mot exemption.....

Yeah have to flush it all out with cheap oil....Hopefully this was the cause of the water loss and not a head gasket

Update...going on marks advice i have noticed there is some head gasket sticking out into the area the flat bits at the end sit on.The manifold must be sitting on these causing the rocking and failure to seat properly

Thanks i am not sure if the head inlet faces have been scimmed as well ..the inlet seems to be resting on the camshaft bearing casting....the manifold that was in it has one face scimmed a bit off down its length...the gasket i have has cork both sides, seems to much in my opinion...

You may be right...a few questions , i have found the faces of the inlet have had at least 1mm scimmed off so i consider that to be scrap...i have placed a stock spare one in with no gasket and it rocks from side to side, meaning it is not resting on the faces of the heads is this normal ?....also t...

Give that a go..as its a v shape scimming would take the ports downwards a bit.

Standard 5a. i will replace the manifold gasket and see what happens. As it was'nt overheating i'm not convinced its a head gasket and this engine has only done 6,000 since it was rebuilt 20 years ago
