Pre 1960 cars have been mot exempt for some time, no one i know with one has had any insurance company tell them they must get an mot ?

If your v5 says historic in the tax class.....get insurance go online to tax it (free) then a page will pop up tick one box to declare no mayor mods and thats it.You will now have one years free tax and mot exception.....no form filling or trips to the post office required

The 50 Amp ignition fuse appears to power all of your failed electrics , so check that one.

What are you hopeing to find by pulling the heads off ? If you have good compression the valves and rings would appear to be ok..Try pulling different plug leads off first to see if its the same cylinders not fireing every time you start it.Which Rapier have you ?

Has it always done this , if not i'm guessing you had a short bit of flexible fuel pipe with a floating filter on the end which has fallen off the metal pick up pipe....have a look in the tank with a torch..

If you remove the sump and undo the big end bearing cap , i don't see why you couldn't take the piston out the top..
