It'd be interesting to find out. Failure to re present for test for faults fixed after test failure? I suppose it's the same as not having taxed your tax exempt vhi :D

MOT changes

It occurred to me today whilst out in the stiletto........so I decide to get an mot to be safe, but it fails......but its mot exempt?! Do I go back with it fixed? If not it's classed as not roadworthy, how about I fix it and don't go back for a retest? It's now roadworthy but without the ticket? It'...

Future MOT changes

When this comes in, overnight 5 out of our 6 cars become exempt! For me I feel very differently about which ones I would mot, and the ones I may not. The Datsun 120a I probably wouldn't as it lives in a dry dehumidified garage and I restored it 7 years ago and is rust free, all the suspension is new...

Well these ones certainly are! On the Essex they are right over the distributor, absolutely no chance of starting it if it's damp.
The diese in it now doesn't mind though.

I've just taken some pics to show you how the screen fits. I'm happy with it.

That's a brilliant idea! I really like that, and a nice mesh fitted at the back would look great too, and it'd hide the holes where the previous owners garage replaced the wiper wheel boxes from the top. Not sure my glassing is up to speed yet, but ll give it a go!

Here's a pic of the old screen in the hole, this was placed evenly between the a posts......you can see how much area the glass has to rest on.

That's two of us then Ronnie! When I went to view the car originally, I thought that looks ok, oh, and the side looks ok too, then got to the front and saw the bonnet! Not only does it look absolutely crap, it gets worse, when it rains the engine gets soaked, and, the bonnet itself fills with water ...

Just in case anyone didn't see my other post on windscreens yesterday, the fitter came to fit the heated screen, but it all went a bit wrong as the heated one curves more on the bottom corners, it was just not going to go in properly with the new rubber. The old screen leaked like a sieve, and that ...

Well, it's in! There was lots of land on the flange to glue to, which is why we thought about bonding it. It looked as if it needed shaving back to have any hope of getting the new screen in. It's actually gone in very well, it sits flush on the pillars, a gap of 10mm or so on the bottom corners (as...

Lol.....thanks greeny! We discussed body flexing a broken glass, but I think it's far more likely to go by trying to force it in in its rubber, it is way out. The guy said that some modern cars rely on the screen as part of its structure, that said I had a brand new Citroen pluriel in 04, and the de...
