5a engine swap

The mot regs and engine swap only apply if you want mot exemption, personally, I think if you modified the car with a quicker engine, it should be well within the owners grasp to get it through an mot......the amount of effort and problem solving to get a Vauxhall or Saab engine into a scimitar make...

Se6 sill steel replacement

I’m looking to get some stainless steel ordered to replace the rotten steel in my sills. When I shut the door (which both have dropped) I get a twang and a rattle as the loose piece flaps around in the sill, and I can feel it’s knackered by putting my hand in there......it’s properly past it! The a ...

So all in, it was a great day out, I thoroughly enjoyed the drive, and this is the first time I’ve driven it this distance, and not had any issues. With the borrowed suspension it drives like a completely different car, feels really solid, and very comfy, and I’m impressed with the handling. Once on...

So with the music installed, I was ready to go out on drive it day with the imp club on a tour around Wales. Mike Thompson a local scimitar member very kindly sorted out a pair of standard front struts for me to try as I wasn’t happy with the AVO set up I have, as it’s hard and crashes over bumps, a...

I had Friday off and the weekend too, so I got more done. As my daily is a Landrover, I don’t get a chance to listen to music when I’m driving, so I decided that I would really like a good sound system, nothing ridiculous or loud, just clear and good sound. Audio amps, head units and speakers used t...

No, it’s miles away, if you look where I’ve placed it ,it’s in the green bit, which is where the shield would be, so it’s behind that. I really can’t find anywhere else to put it that’s convenient.

I forgot to say, I jacked it up this morning to check bolts, bearings etc at the front as I had a few odd clunks, and was surprised to find several nuts that needed a tighten, and both track rod ends, and 1 wheel bearing, so it’s now feeling very different. My next quandary is to figure out where I ...

Exactly philhoward!! So, Saturday my friend (a trained Cummins expert) and I set about replacing the pump, all went well and I was happy that there was enough room to get it in and out fairly easily. We got it all in and timed up.....or so we thought, and after 2 batteries to get fuel to the injecto...

Thinking of selling

I’m glad it’s sold. It looks like a very good deal indeed, and if I hadn’t have bought mine, this is exactly what I wanted, and it’s in way better condition than mine was.

MOT

Because under the new mot vhi exemption, if it’s currently taxed, you can’t declare the exemption, as you will only be able to declare exemption when you apply for tax. So the options seem to be either mot it, and then declare as exempt when the tax runs out, or sorn it until the 20 th May, and then...
