Broken Boffin

Tom In profile Scimitar wheel studs are a T shape. They push in through the back of the hub and lock in place via a splined section on the shaft of the stud. In my case, the circular flat of the T profile, which prevents the stud pulling through the front of the hub had broken away from the stud par...

Broken Boffin

Sorry to see that Tom. Did the wheel nuts pull through the hub? The backs come off them, it happened on mine, fortunately as I was tightening them.

SE5 with V8 engine for sale

I have only just noticed this. The car isn't on the register, so if anyone can let me have the chassis number I'd appreciate it.

Car Inspection South East London SE19

I have had an enquiry from the owner of an SE5a who has serious health issues. His car has been standing for quite some time and he would like to get it back on the road if possible. In order to do this, he needs an honest assessment of the condition of the car and advice on what work would need doi...

I have inherited an SE5a -Yikes!

Welcome to the world of Scimitar ownership and sympathies about the loss of your father.

Could you send me the details of the car's chassis and registration numbers so I can check the Club's register of cars please?

MOT exemption

The 'Practical Classics' magazine Facebook page yesterday added a copy of a letter from DfT to Bob Owen of FBHVC clarifying the position re: MOT exemption. PC suggests printing a copy and keeping it in the car (which I intend to do) in case stopped by the Police.

MOT exemption

I think this is getting confusing because there are two different systems that are totally unique but DVLA/DVSA have managed to confuse the issue by linking them on the online tax page. MOT exemption is automatic at 40 providing the car is unmodified (VHI) - no need to do anything at all. HOWEVER w...

North Coast 500

Dave Peek, Ruta and I plan to do the NC500 in 2020. We have already mentioned it in SLICE and there will be more details (possibly) in the next issue. We met earlier this year to plan it. If anybody is interested in joining us keep an eye out for the details.
