Re: Lozzzzzzz's Omega LPG powered SE6a with added balljoints

I'd either stick with bulbs or specifically buy a brand/model of LED that someone else has had some success with. I've had relatively expensive LED tail lights fail and MOT on poor contrast between brake and side lights and cheap ones literally fall apart. It's nice to see the progress from recent u...

Re: lucas reliant hybrid

I passed it on Saturday but didn't have time to have a proper look. It's a real shame to see it deteriorate.

Re: Where do you buy your Parts in Europe?

I'm in the UK and I've bought from Geert, the cheapest source varies part by part.

I normally buy from Mark Wilson, Graham Walker and QRG.

Re: Meaningless Scimitar Breaking

I hate to see good cars broken, but in my experience of trying to sell a very good one no one will travel to view it so I can see the appeal in getting some money from it in bits - it's a good job I don't have the time or space to do it. I'm also starting to understand why some cars are abandoned in...

Re: Tyres and modern racing.

You need the tyre degradation in F1 to help prevent run away winners to keep the spectators happy. Just like the DRS on the straight to allow overtakes and the pit stops to shuffle the field. There is no spectacle in F1 apart from what is introduced through rule manipulation and there hasn't been fo...

Re: E-Petition On Affordable Insurance

Being synical, is a whiplash claim from the other party classed as revenue, hence helps the insurers turnover, making it self-propagating? It may be a synical comment but you're not that far off - the insurer (or broker as is often the case) sells the claim for a referral fee along with the vehicle...

Re: E-Petition On Affordable Insurance

"On top of that, the scandalous practice of selling crash details to personal injury lawyers is pushing up premiums for everyone and must be dealt with. " This statement is incorrect and somewhat misses the point as the insurers do the majority of the selling. Abolishing referral fees will increase...

Re: E-Petition On Affordable Insurance

Whilst I'd like to see insurance and everything else I purchase come down I can't agree with this petition. Insurance companies need to asses risks and price accordingly, preventing them from weighting policies on gender has already lead to increased weightings on things like post code and occupatio...

Re: Corporate email systems

don't dare tell a Linux geek he is out of touch with reality though - they regard the rest of the world as out of touch. As a wannabe Linux geek having to tolerate Microsoft products every day I resemble that remark :D I'd have expected a Google conspiracy theorist to be a Linux geek to be honest, ...

Re: Corporate email systems

For several reasons I've always gone down the Exchange route so I've got little experience with alternatives, this is mainly due to integrations with other systems but sourcing staff experienced with other systems has always been a concern. I've came close to implementing MDaemon in one organisation...

Re: Projects Vs Good cars

I thought there had been an increase in cars for sale in general not just projects. Mine is for sale and it's what I would class as a good one. It may at some point become an ebay bargain though due to lack of interest, only one person has came to see it, he was complimentary about it but decided to...

Re: Best sounding car / engine - ever

The best 4 cylinders:
Honda VFR/RVF with gear driven cams.
Honda SOHC 4 (CB 500, 550, 750)
Both are very different, the VFR/RVF has a very rough aggressive sound, the SOHC has a very smooth sound like something with allot more cylinders.

I biased though, I own a CB550 and a VFR 750.
