Auto to Manual

Not a 2.9i, it looks like a Cologne engine (apparently) with a carb on the top. Not that I'me expert on V6 Fords. My limit is the old crossflow!

Auto to Manual

Thanks for that comparison Jim.
Low 1st , 2nd & 3rd higher, 4th identical and top a little lower.
Not sure where that leaves me.
The car does seem to be a bit of a bitza due to the conversion but looks sound in the photos. Lacking in documented history, only heresay.

Auto to Manual

So can I assume that with a virtually unnecessary 1st gear that 5th is like a 4th gear ratio as a car that was a manual from the start would have had a different gearbox with overdrive?
I suppose going to 15" wheels would improve things.
Could be the reason it hasn't sold so far.

Auto to Manual

Planning to go look at a GTC in the next few days. It's been converted at some point from an auto to a manual gearbox. 5 speed non O/D. One thing that has sparked a Q is the rear axle. I know on the Triumph Stag, the rear diff ratio on an auto is different from on the manual. For any given road spee...

Selling my dual fuel, A4LD automatic GTC. New MOT.

Interested in the dual fuel set up, all certificated? That would a great help to my running costs.

Selling my dual fuel, A4LD automatic GTC. New MOT.

TBH if it were nearer I'd come and have a look, despite the fixed this and that and sprayed this but it doesn't match thread. Your right though a new ad with all the previous bits removed would present the car better. Stuff like gaiters can always be changed by the new owner although shabby bits do ...

Scimitar GTC for sale.

Ooops, must learn to read, sorry. I failed at comprehension at school too!
Guess that's just too far away for me, 471 miles and 8.5 hours each way.
Thanks and good luck with the sale, it does look in top condition.

Blue GTC at Wynyard Car Meet

Very tidy looking car, made me realise that a GTC is probably the 4 seater car I need.
Would have liked to have a better look as my only concern is trying to sort out proper rear belts
