There were a few more little brackets to make, it’s seemingly never ending 20180929_162548.jpg Which ended up here, to give me the fire extinguisher nozzle, interior pull cable mount & exterior kill switch cable mount all on the centre switch panel 20180930_191606.jpg I got some different paint & fi...

551 A race oddity

I’d been pushing on with the SS1, as despite missing all the races this year, I had a rough plan to get some track testing done in November, so I was pushing on, but there has been a slight change in short-term plans. First the work. I’d made & trial fitted a rear window in the hard top a while ago....

The Doctors Coupe - SRE 353G

Well, my coupe was 1st registered 50 years ago today.

Its odometer is on 116458 (having been round once), so only 2329 miles per year! I've only manged about 1000 miles in my 6 months ownership, so I'm a little off average, bearing in mind it will get less use over the winter.

Barry "Whizzo" Williams

He was an after dinner speaker at a CSCC event a couple of years ago, he was ammusing and lets say, from a less PC age. Had a chat with him later on too. He'd driven all sorts & everything.

Corky's Scimitars

I've got to say, I was always looking for more of everything. More grip (sticker tyres), more power, more lightness (to stick with the more theme). I wanted to get the car working and balanced & progress, but thwen I generally had my eye on scratch times then handicaps as a seconadary. However, if y...

I really don't get the point. This is a forum to chat about old plastic cars and the foibles thereof. The catchment from the wider population is somewhat limited. Much like general society, you should be considerate of others. If you decide to go beyond the accepted norms, at the pub a friend may su...

It looks like the moving around is for concrete laying? There's a nice fresh pad there.

A bit more painting, I was going to spray the textured finish on the dash top, but no matter what I did, the stupid stuff would not come out the aerosol. So I rollered it with the same satin blue I've used everywhere else, it's not really got the texture I was after, but I can always come back to it...

A bit of a let down!

A couple of years ago, I had new tyres fitted to a car. I think it was 5 days later I hit something at the end of a motorway slip road that sliced through the side wall. That was annoying, I'd barely worn the moulding bobbles off...

551 A race oddity

I’ve been working on a few different bits, at various stages of completion. Most of it not very photo worthy, so I’ve got a step through of one of the little jobs. The facia was long-gone when I bought the car, but all I’m after is something light & tidy to hide the wiring. Some time ago, I made a l...

When in use it currently does 600 miles a week.
~30000 miles a year? Well fair play for using it for so many miles!
