La vie en Metro

Developed from the Mini, of course, with a lot of the Mini drawbacks designed out. I have quite a stock of 998/1000 Austin engine parts, Fred, and am at the moment rebuilding a complete engine/gearbox, so if you need anything give me a shout! :D Next task will be the replacement Essex for Candy! :ha...

Thinking of selling

Thoughts: You'll get at better price with a valid MOT. As to value, I would guess £5'000 in UK; about 7'000€ in France. :)

An aussie Essex???

Two Aussies were out hunting in the outback, and came upon a huge hole in the ground. They approached it and were amazed at its size and depth. The first said, "Wow, that's some hole. I can't even see the bottom. I wonder how deep it is." The second said, “There's an old gear box over there. Let’s t...

I'm not certain, but I think the change came with the introduction of the 6 series. Your carb could have been taken from a 5 or 5A.

So the redundant pipe we can see might be the end of the return pipe-line from the tank? In any case I thik it needs investigating.

Well that looks to me like the return pipe. If it comes out of the carb, just below the inlet pipe, its definitely the return, which should be connected all the way back to the tank. If its been blocked off by a PO , there could be several reasons: 1 he didn't understand what it was for; 2 the origi...

Also, looking at your picture Ninclinn, where does your fuel return pipe from the carb go to? I hope its not the one we can see pointing at the air filter? It should go all the way back to the tank.

This one probably merits a whole page - but here's just one picture. 1936 Ford 3.9 litre which originally belonged to President Franklin D.Roosevelt. It's now in France. Absolutely unique in France, although four other examples are thought to have found their way to Europe before the war, heaven kno...

My SE6A has the same problem. I eventually found it was the delay timer on the interior lights which was faulty. This may not apply to an SE5A, of course.

MHIBA 2018

This year's event is scheduled for 10-11-12 August . Entries have been coming in since January, and we are now up to 100 cars, and 15 motorbikes, of which four have sidecars - and it's only March! Still five months to go to the event, so no fears about the number of entries, and the quality is top-d...
