Track Day Insurance

Thanks everybody for your input. It seems in UK the drivers are all thinking about the value of their cars, which does not concern me here. It's the Public Liability question which is uppermost ,and that seems to be where the difference between UK and the Continent lies. A Trackday takes place on a ...

The Parrot

I'm not sure if this is admissable -but it made me laugh ! THE PARROT During a lull at a White House dinner, Melania Trump leaned over to chat with Secretary of State, Tillerson. "I bought Donald a parrot for his birthday. That bird is so smart, Donald has already taught him to say over two hundred ...

Track Day Insurance

Thanks Jim, that's interesting reading. They do things differently over here. What I am trying to establish is whether British drivers could come over here and take part in a non-competitive event similar to a track day, without being obliged to take out special cover for the day;also, whether organ...

Track Day Insurance

Thanks Roger, I didn't think to look for the motorsport discussions . The non-competitive element is important, obviously, but do they(the insurers) accept the risk on a closed track without any extra premium? -and don't organisers check your public liability insurance, or is that covered by their i...

Classic car mags in UK

I want to send out a Press release to some British Classic Car mags, especially the ones which cover sporting events. What do you all read? Do you know any contacts? Any e-mail addresses? All suggestions gratefully received.

Track Day Insurance

This is really one for the "compies": Do you chaps need special Insurance cover for Track Days? If so , where do you go to find it, and how much does it cost? Are you able to buy one-day cover, or do you buy a whole year? -and what exactly does it cover which you don't get on your everyday policy? :...

Hello from Hamburg

At the top of this page, click on Home. Then look for Club Contacts. That should give you a list of all the club officers, including the registrars for all the different models. The SSS1/Sabre registrar is Mike Littleton, known as Mikelima 48 on the forum page. He would like the VIN and the registrat...

Breakdown - help/ advice please

I go along with that, based on my experience in 2016. If the head gasket really has gone, you will lose coolant and boil up while driving , so you would see the temperature gauge climbing. I have managed to get home from 160 miles away like that, by stopping and topping up after about 50 miles, but b...

Safe to disconnect dim-dip unit? (MB)

If it helps - I rewired my classic Mini, and the headlights didn"t work. Then I discovered te harness had a multi-plug which should have a dim-dip unit conected. I didn't have a dimi-dip unit for my car , so I just pushed a jump-wire into the multi-plig. Everything now works. That was five years ago...

SS1 windscreen needed in France

I was quite impressed by the way Channel-hopper took the trouble to stack & secure goods in transit. Hea handles everything from engines to antique furniture, so should be capable of handling a properly-wrapped windscreen.
