funny thing about this place

I think Jim has already answered your original question ...'Total Forum members 3663 - Is this 100% accurate?' He said, yes it is, as there are that many members of the forum. The number is a total - it is not split into how many are still active, how many post, how many are active only every 2 year...

Plain paper and thin card are useful for water systems, or non-pressurised systems, but will probably not last the course if holding back oil under pressure. When I was at sea, we used to k...

Re: WAGO connectors

A view varying opinions on this one! Personally, I think the bullets are fine, but the Wago, or equivalent, if installed properly would do a perfectly good job. I wouldn't be fazed seeing a car that had industrial type wiring installation, as it would give me a bit of confidence that the person knew...

Re: Starter struggling

I'd be tempted to disconnect earth from battery. Use a second vehicle and jump lead onto the positive terminal / clamp, with a negative clamp onto the engine block somewhere. If it was still sluggish, I'd be looking at a starter swap ...

Re: Recommend me a (cheap) camera...

I used to have a negative on Sony for the format they forced on you with their mp3 players. However, if you fell out with every company that upset you in any way, you would soon be buying nothing at all. I have changed, after being a long time Canon user, to a Sony camera, and it is superb. Not chea...

Re: Worst car I've ever driven was

I had a SSang Yong Musso in the sand in the middle east - absolutely abysmal. And a Ford Orion rental that was unbelievable twitchy - requiring constant minute adjustments to keep in lane on the motorway.
