Hello from the south of France

Hello ! Right, she's back ! A few years off the road, and she was ever so sweet on her 650 mile trip back down to Toulouse. A few electrical problems, very old tyres, but all in all, a fantastic 1st drive. She's now in my garage, chatting with a good old beetle and a mk1 golf. I'm absolutely over th...

Hello from the south of France

Hi all !

After months of war against customs in Long Beach, my sweet old girl is in England. Next week I'm getting her delivered to Dover, and will slowly make my way back through France.

Watch this space, I'll be putting loads of photos up soon !

Help ! Looking for transport Felixstowe to any other port

Hello all, I'm in a bit of a pickle... My father has shipped his/my Scimitar from California, and the US customs decided it had to go to England, not France. I can't drive through England, but I can drive through France on temporary plates. I need to find someone who can take her from Felixstowe to ...

Hello from the south of France

Hello all ! A few years have gone by, and it's now time... My father's SE6a is coming back to Europe soon, to replace the MX5. I will probably be shouting out for help, as it left Europe, but didn't get registered in California, I've got German and English paperwork that isn't really of any use anym...

Re: Hello from the south of France

I'm not so sure about the wine, well not in my area. We've got Gaillac and Fronton, and I wouldn't really chose to drink either of them  There are a couple of good Fronton, but it's generally headache material. Unfortunately, I "learned" wine in Bordeaux, I used to work for a Négociant up t...

Re: Hello from the south of France

Great photos, we like photos! I'll put the Mazda on the site awaiting a proper car, it looks rather neat. If you registered the other Mazda as an MR 2 the fonctionnaires probably thought you were taking the p*ss. If you say MR2 in french it is emmerdeur. For english speakers, Google doesn't know bu...

Re: Hello from the south of France

I usually go to a Classic & Sports car meeting in Toulouse, and have never seen a Scimitar ! This is my stepdad's one, it's changed a bit since, but these are the only photos I have... http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd265/La_VoLvOiste/Reliant%20Scimitar/2012-07-16125937.jpg http://i224.photobuck...

Re: Hello from the south of France

Hi Sophie, bienvenue sur le forum! Is there anyone else down south or are most owners in France up north ? If you have a quick look here you can see where some of the other French Scimitar owners are (at least the ones on the forum): https://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=139423&x=-1.690712&y=52.634292&...

Re: Hello from the south of France

Don't know how I missed this, thanks for the tip Phil. Welcome to Scimitar France Sophie, if you PM me your e-mail address or e-mail me direct - bolidenoir@mac.com - I'll update you on everything that's happening. There is already a Scimitar in Albi, a superb SE5 with wire wheels. And there are two...

Re: Hello from the south of France

Bienvenue Sophie! If you haven't already heard from Dark Star , I can assure you it's not too hard to re-register in France, I did it in six weeks including the wait for the Certificate of Conformity. Mind you, it's not cheap! Anyway, I hope the eventual birthday present is worth the wait. Welcome ...

Re: Hello from the south of France

Yes, it does indeed !

Peter : I haven't a clue, it was 20 odd years ago, and I'm only 28, so I can't remember that much. His name is Steve Hogg, he also ran Quick Brown Fox at the time

Re: Hello from the south of France

 Ok, I'll be looking forward to getting a message from Chris Johnson then :D I've been buying cars in the UK, and helping my customers through the paperwork for a while, but it's always been pretty straightforward, I bought the MX5 in the UK (they're so expensive here...5 or 6000€ for one like ...
