Well, that’s different..

Green 1800ti with gold wheels and stripes that went unsold a couple of times last year on ebay at around £800. Hertfordshire way. Guy has been selling off bits like engine and box here and there. He did offer the panels for free on facebook IIRC.

Converting alloy wheels to split rims

The CX wheels do come up fairly regularly, although usually in "7 or "8 width. Can't recall seeing any 10s though.

Wrong pcd can be resolved, easier than changing the width.

SS1 in Stranraer

Yes, it was sold on eBay a few months back on auction, reached about £300 IIRC. Has been in storage a long time and the sills were rotten, possibly came with galv replacements to be fitted but I cant recall. Someone has been busy with the underseal and intends on making a quick buck by the look of i...

Essex Piston Types? Potentially supplying new sets...

Ha! Didn't realise antiquated cars needed to be worked on in obsolete measurements  Difference between 2 and 3 is crown height / compression ratio. But it's the different gudgeon pin between 1 and 2/3 that I'm not any wiser about? Points noted, but presumably there's not a huge amount of good s...

Essex Piston Types? Potentially supplying new sets...

Hello folks, I make no secret about not being much involved with the GTE's and the Essex V6. However there is potential for me to stock and supply piston sets at a good price. The manufacturer lists 3 different versions and I am not certain of the variations of these engines so input most welcome. E...

Steering wheel delamination

The spongey twisting, yeah the do mostly end up that way.

Not tried to fix one like it though as I have always had better ones available.

Reliant Parts World did have some new ones last year - I know I bought two! May still be some in stock.

Just a note to say that with the introduction of the galv chassis that cross member became shallower, so you may find a slight clearance issue with the Ti box / clutch cable (if you are still running one?!)

Sure you would soon have any such issue sorted by means of angle grinder and hammer though.

Replacing gearbox rear oil seal.

Any harder with a mk2 box (that will almost certainly be what Lens Sabre has) as they have a sort of metal shroud around the output section??

Timing gear marks

Beaten to it by Jim. Ignore the incorrect timing dot. The machinist probably reached for his brew when he popped that there. They are more for indicative reference than absolute reference. Set the keyways facing each other. If it is a set supplied by me and the alloy gear is significantly loose on t...

I was in touch with the owner a couple of years ago again. Having originally come across the car when buying an uncompleted reliant/Stevens/falcon cipher from him about 10 years ago. He is fully aware of it being an early car and promises it won't be scrapped. I can give the owner another prod... If...

1.6 oil filter change

Don't tighten the filter up so much!

I fit mine by hand. Then a simple strap wrench to eek it free come next oil change.
