Stuttering / Cutting out, petrol starvation

Yes I agree it needs to be tested on a short length of fuel pipe direct from a can to the carb with nothing in between. My comment regarding the valve clearances was based upon the idea that if they were set too tight as they warmed up the valves would not close properly which would cause the cylind...

Stuttering / Cutting out, petrol starvation

Jim I would have thought it unlikely that both carbs would have the same float level issue but stranger things have happened I suppose  If a graviry feed has been tried on both carbs and the issue is still the same then I would be looking at another source for the issue myself though what that ...

Stuttering / Cutting out, petrol starvation

Also does it have a small pipe on the back of the carb where the throttle cable connects. This is a vaccum take off and n...

Vinylkote code but first, how do I get it out?

Just take the clevis pins out of the levers on the rear brakes and that should allow enough movement to get it out. You might get away with just one depending on the slack in the cable

Coupe for Sale SRE 353G

What a lovely car wish I had the money available at the moment to buy this. As for the misfire I had similar issues and it was the Luminition overheating. I ended up removing it from my car and replacing with old fashioned points and condensor and it cured the fault.
Good luck with the sale :D

Se5a windscreen blower motors

Thanks for the picture - tells a thousand words as they say. Can I ask a couple more questions please? Whats the output like compared to the originals (I am especially thinking of the windscreen demisters which are like an asthmatic mouse coughing) :D Are they much noiser? Did you cut a new hole in ...

Thanks Roger I did see that but was unnsure how they would fit as the pictures have all gone.
The fans quoted do seem wider than the originals and given that my originals dont seem to fit I thought it best to ask the question :)

Se5a windscreen blower motors

Just been trying to refit mine and come across an issue The bases are not square and so will only fit one way however this means that the air intake is tight against the body and is therefore restricted If I spin them through 90 degrees and fit them as per my manual they hit the inner wing and the m...

He brought the Pug and its a nice clean car for the money Personally I have no experience with the 1.9 diesel engine used in the SAAB but found lots of bad reports when looking around. As you say people only report bad things not good but there were LOTS of reports lo...
