Cornish Evening Get Together

Hi Guys

Sorry I will not be able to make the meeting tomorrow as I am out of the area on business and will not get back to Cornwall in time.

Have a beer for me!

SE5 wiper Spindle rubbers ?

Lotus Elan +2 or Classic Capri may share this part.

If anyone has got the dimensions or a drawing I may be able to make them.

SE5a Body Off Resto

Top work. It looks better than mine when I removed the body.

Before you know it you will be joining the Omeaga powered Scimitar club!

I have done nothing about the brakes yet but need to start thinking about it in more detail. Do I refurbish what is there or is there a good upgrade for the front. I have never driven the car so no idea what the standard brakes are like but with the engine upgrade it seems logical to sort the brakes...

SE6a Wiper "Wheel Boxes"

Good point Roger. I should have read the question. I think I remember that being written on my school reports!

I don't like to be the profit of doom. but there seems a hole in the roll hoop in the dark area of your photo on the LHS. I looks like it would get quite big if poked with a screwdriver. I would not be happy unless it was cut out.

SE6a Wiper "Wheel Boxes"

I have no idea on wheel boxes as I have not studied them in any detail but I thought the SE5 shared the windscreen with a Lotus Elan +2 and Classic Capri. If this is the case them it would seem logical that they would need the same wiper blades and wheel boxes to sweep the screen effectively. Someon...

I thought I would add one more bracket to the exhaust for the diverted pipe to add a bit more support. So I fabricated a new bracket and welded it to the chassis. After a quick paint it looks good to go. 2017 30th Dec 002.JPG 2017 30th Dec 001.JPG Well I think that is all I can do with the body off ...

The fuel tank came with a free hole where the breaker had drilled it to empty the tank. I was going to fit a drain plug to block it off but it did not work out too well so I decided to weld it up after washing it out very carefully and filling with exhaust fumes to make sure there was no chance of a...

A friend came over to help change the cam belt as he does them all day and I did not want to get it wrong. 2017 Dec 26th 001.JPG I have been looking everywhere for an new connector for the fuel filter to complete the fuel line. One arrived from China for 99p as an early Christmas present. 2017 Dec 2...

The Beige Se5a : rebuild becomes Omega conversion

Darryl
I have just done a similar thing over Christmas replacing the water pump and cam belt. Perhaps I should have done the oil seal at the same time.
I hope my oil seal does not leak!

Good luck getting it back together

Fightingtorque - There is more room for the exhausts than you think. I set the ride height of my chassis at the standard height to give me a working reference. This means that the main chassis rails are 7'' off the ground. The centre box on my system is the lowest point at 6'' so is only 1'' lower t...
