Use SIPs Structural insulated panels. Basically two panels of wood or metal bonded to insulation. Gives you insulation and structure in one ! Plenty around down your way. Seconds & co good place to start but lots of options on fleabay. Can use the same for a mono pitched roof with a rubber cover. Y...

(there was a air cooled 911 for £200K which took my fancy but my wife says we need to keep the house!!) Gulp, he's got some cheek..... It's a 1993 back dated to look like a pre 73 built by PS. You can buy a REAL pre 73 911S for less money, the real deal not a replica. IMHO its worth about £60K & no...

Short cut short haul - 1 mile in 30mph zone ?

I seem to remember someone suggesting moving large loads on roof bars!!! is this an option? (I still can't use the smilies) Stu Guilty as charged.. But with NO roof bars! Back in the very early 80's I answered a for sale ad in the Exchange & mart for a VW Beetle parts car (floorpan, suspension & bo...

Mad prices of Fords

So to summarise Remy,
Scimitar prices not being inflated by "Fords" is.... The Reliant Stigma-tar effect (sh*t sticks)
Enlightened Folk knowledge is......The Reliant Stig-mota effect

Mad prices of Fords

Exactly Nick :D Steve, you can’t be Anxious over something that’s not happened yet so you might as well be prepared. The true enthusiast will already have one or more cars (and numerous others in various states of disrepair) & be using them. Those discovering the Marque have plenty of time board the...

Mad prices of Fords

The Scimitar is it's own worst enemy, it wasn't a common man's car then Exactly, Reliant will always be associated with the 3 wheeler (cue the jokes) which is the Scimitars thorn in its side. As for common man, IMHO the association is that it is/was a "common mans sports car" Folks who rented their...

local information/help needed

No problem Stu, It was your choice of the defeatist word "insurmountable" for a car only 300 miles away that tickled me. There's always ways around things, (friends, transport companies etc) after all I didn't personally row the boat over 2 oceans to bring my cars home  Good luck with your sea...
