Manny's SS1 1600

Good day all

Well I have a clutch once more :D , took about an hour start to finish - the only potential issue is that I could not see a metal 'washer' to slide on the cable that rests on the rubber gizmo :? - so may need to revise that sooner rather than later

Thanks all for your help

Could be the "clutch fork widget" that RR mentioned earlier, that has fallen out - try adjusting the clutch, if there's enough adjustment left, you may be able to get it working again.
Okay thanks - can some one post a picture of the ' clutch fork widget ' - i will have a look tomorrow

So the RAC chap says the cable is okay as there is still resistance during the last 3/4 of travel - he suspects the assembly may be the culprit

A crucial spare to have in the "Bordeaux box" under the boot floor.

If you need one in a hurry I have good S/H cables here and also clutch fork widgets should you need one. Could post out today for delivery tomorrow.

Refitting a 6a Gearbox

It's been a good day here today, in fact it's been a very good day today. After what seems like an eternity I took an extra day off work and climbed into the overalls, an extra jack was borrowed and I finally managed to get the box back up into position and mated to the engine after a lot of wiggli...

I had a similar problem with the leads arcing - not just at the king lead, but in several places where the leads were in contact. I replaced them with some Bosch silicone ones, which seem to have been ok. When I replaced them I also made sure that the leads didn't come into contact or overlap each ...

Manny's SS1 1600

Yep, I think the two are unrelated. The king lead is arcing when you move it because the insulation has gone and number 4 looks like the metal connector is loose (have you also checked that the screw on cap on the plug is tight?) fixed!! :D ...i think new leads will be a good idea..i swapped no4 le...
