What cars did you see today? (Non-Scimitar)

Northbound on M42 Sunday ( must have been some motorsport event)..i saw a couple of Audi R8's, with a black sinister Corvette following and then something very shiny.... a black and chrome Buggati Veyron  being 'pursued' by an Audi S3 very close...

Manny's SS1 1600

Good day, i did not change the front springs as i had a trip up to Nottingham, however when i arrived i parked with the nearside on the kerb, and by chance noted that the offside arch gap was now the same as the nearside, i could get my hand between the tyre and arch....that makes no sense or logic ...

Manny's SS1 1600

What age is the car? or to be more specific, does it have the early or late rear inner wheel arches? The later ones were wider and give slightly more clearance, especially if you've got wider wheels/tyres. Morning sir, well it's an 85 model with standard 185/6o R14 tyres...what are the width differ...

Manny's SS1 1600

step back a moment, it would appear from above that there is only a small difference at the front? ie half inch at front yet at the rear there is nearly one inch (now reduced to 3/4" after all the changes. so if there was a problem caused by the front then surely the difference would be as big or b...

Manny's SS1 1600

Good day folks,

picked up the car with new MOT .. :D , spoke with the chaps about the rear - they said nothing obvious was visible with the suspension setup etc, and they measured the difference at 3/4 inch .. :? :?
I will replace the fronts over the weekend and report back...

Have you compared the shock absorbers to determine they are identical? Unlikely but someone could have substituted something odd into one side. Tyre profiles same both sides? was thinking that (shocks)..profiles are the same... :( having said that the 'new' shock units were the exact the same lengt...

No mention of measurements after you swapped the rear springs left to right? Did you measure the compressed and free length of the springs? If the fault moved sides it’ll be the rears, if it only changed it slightly it could be fronts. Good day the springs on the car are the new ones from QRG, so s...

Manny's SS1 1600

It is interest do you know what springs you are fitting to the rear in terms of length and rate? Good day , the rears are SS1 'standard' as ordered and supplied new by QRG...does that help\ clarify...? Length seems the same as the old that i took off, i did note the newer ones were harder to compre...
