Those switches are known to get sticky from a lack of use - some exercising should free them off.

Usually the parking switch on the motor itself but double check you have the secondary supply.

Tony Idle did a wonderful article for Slice a few years ago which tells you everything you ever needed to know about wiper motors.

Touching, or can't fit it because of the collision?

You might find that when the suspension is loaded, that will swing the coil/damper unit away from it.

Also - are the shims fitted because that's what was there before, or have you measured the camber angle based on the normal ride height?

Don't assume that they will be the original size as it depends if the UJ itself has been replaced at some point. They also come in different lengths, as well as threads (and hex fitting, although that's normally pretty much dictated by the thread size). As Peter eludes to - best bet it to remove and...
