wiring loom

If it was a ring gear issue it's unlikely that it's all affected so turning the engine 30 degrees or so would have it on a different bit of the gear? What’s the voltage at the CPS?

Edit - whilst cranking I mean
It’s running EDIS for sparks and was sparking successfully on Saturday and I could see a stable reading for RPM and injector PW so confident it isn’t suffering resets from low voltage.

I believe alternative drop links have already been sourced from a BMW? From memory I think it was a 3 series
5 series but I think Corky has found a more suitable candidate since?

What’s this cable from?

Looks like it could be from the SE5a non-overdrive with the cable clutch?

I doubt you will find one like that. What you can get is: https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/brise-ev200-battery-isolator-briev200-h/ Or: https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/cartek-gt-solid-state-battery-isolator-ctkck-bt-02/ Made for the job of being turned on and off by means of a remote push button/swit...

Ians GTC rebuild. Now the work begins

I’d try and sleeve it internally.
To join the old and new tube, or just to repair?

I’d be surprised if The Metal Store don’t have the correct tube - they had decent thickness 1.5” square tube (that wasn’t the think junk used for table legs) when no one else did.
