5a rear lights wiring

Thanks Jim, I will try to follow your directions, looks like
someone has hacked the wiring about, colours differ, pictures I can understand but I will give it a go. Pommy

5a rear lights wiring

Does anyone have a simple drawing of the rear light cluster wiring back to the multi plug in the boot recess. I find it really hard to visualise from the diagram in the manual, a drawing of the rear loom and where each wire goes to/from would be great. Many thanks Pommy

Fluctuating volt .meter

Thanks Jim, the alternator has been on the car for many years, would it be more cost effective to replace rather than repair, maybe upgrade to a higher power unit, which would you recommend. Pommy

Fluctuating volt .meter

Please bear with me if this gets very untechnical... After being quite a reliable starter it became a bit difficult to start, the ignition light went half out when running, dimmed further as revs increased, sometimes it went out as it should. The volt meter slowly rose to 15 then slowly dropped back...

Gaskets fitment for a new WEBER carb

Decided to make my own, a couple sheets of 2mm A3 gasket paper, 1x 8mm & 1x 40mm leather punch, only a couple of quid more than the 4 thin gaskets on sale, and had free p&p, more like those fitted originally. Pommy

Fuel issues with SE5a

Sounds very familiar to me, went right through the fuel carb system without sorting the problem, willholderogri suggested running a wire from the green terminal on the regulator to + on the coil, cured my stuttering cutting out, it also highlighted that my fuel pump, su type, was only getting an int...

Stuttering / Cutting out, petrol starvation

Made the wiring change suggested by Willholderogri and Crowther to day, it worked, 45mins running no problems, who'd have thought, still I will use this as a learning experience, go out for a good test run and put it behind me. Many Thanks to all you guys, until the next time :-) and there will be.....

Stuttering / Cutting out, petrol starvation

Crowther, is this a eureka, forgive the pun, moment, as this problem started the tacho stopped working. Thanks.
Will, your solution looks simpler, electrics are way beyond my pay grade, a diagram would help me understand..

Stuttering / Cutting out, petrol starvation

Thanks for that, really don't understand any of it. Been using the car for 5 years without any major issues, my current problem started Nov last, not modified any of the electrics, I need it explained how a ballast issue could cause my lack of go but only after 20 mins running, and what I would need...
