If you were in the market foe a new sports car, MX5 or Fiat spyder, you wouldn't get much change from £30k so 22k is still a 'cheap' new car should you wish to use it. It's also a classic and less likely to depreciate like an MX5 (longer term.and subject to being cared for of course)

I agree, pots on the day should be scratch imho, but that's not the view of most championships. Even one make/model racing varies, so comparing differing marques, models spanning 40+ years is only gonna be close at best. Answer is find what wins and copy it or buy it if you want pots on the day in C...

I couldn't spot a CM class either - just Porsche, Morgan and TVR. So now the issues fixed are you gonna get re-dynoed? This was an issue for Team Oakes a few years ago where the dyno plot submitted was of a certain figure but some subsequent fault finding saw them rectify an issue (timing belt tooth out iirc) and therefore a hike in power
