Ben's SS1 - SSF novice sprint car

When rebuilding after removal, I use either a normal nut, and spin on with fingers and then just tighten last few flats, or in have used genuine Nissan nuts which are a spanner size smaller than the norm for that thread diameter 12mm vs 13mm as norm iirc. Only issue witj genuine Nissan ones is that ...

Really RR you do spout utter bollox sometimes! With all the bent spanners at my disposal, plus some I modifed with oxy flame, 'that' nut is always a pain, especially if the manifolds not been off since leaving the factory. Copious soaking with proper penetrating liquid (not WD40 or AJL will start to...

Ben's SS1 - SSF novice sprint car

There's a how to on here somewhere that I did iirc along with pics of the spanners I modified. Also some pics on my old SST project thread too 're turbo removal iirc. The bastard nut is the crux, remove that and life's a whole lot easier! The elbow can be done either way, I've done both leaving on d...

Proposed Drives Meeting January

Nor do I really, hence the 1st option is attendance, to enjoy the plaudits of your peers, secondly if circumstances dictate you cannot attend (as opposed to not being bothered) then arrangement via scimitarians or at 1st event of 2019, and as last resort postage and I'd suggest at recipients cost (s...

Proposed Drives Meeting January

To be fair, my poibt was, i think a few wish to attend, but cost either in time or fuel, makes it difficult to justify. Historically when there are no issues, compies tend not to bother, so the fact that people are less inclined suggests things are OK or they would make the effort to attend to chang...

Proposed Drives Meeting January

The lack of interest in attendance does seem to produce 2 thoughts:- Firstly Peter and Mike are doing a good job and most are almost universally happy with the SSSC offering, or theyd be ready to travel, attend a DM and make changes Secondly, why not save the costs for all (hire of room, travel etc)...

Proposed Drives Meeting January

I have no plans to, having attended all? in the last 20 yrs, either as competitor or club official or both, I'm sure you boys can manage without me  For the record i plan on competing next season, with SSSC/CM series but the handicap scoring system of either SSSC or CM favours the mildly modifi...

Stick them on eBay and put Dub retro VW in the title and you should get 500 quid Jim. If the were 13s I'd have had them already or Ben wouldve. Lighter than 1 piece by a margin too
