Breaking 2003 Omega estate

Mike
I had a 6cylinder diesel omega estate (BMW engine) as a cheap tow car and it was superb. Kept it for a few years after I needed it, was the ultimate tip run motor, huge payload, towed nicely and comfortable. I reckon the MV6 version would be a good drift toy

The drop links sit about an inch in front of the driveshaft - ie almost inline with the centre of the wheel - there’s no way they could touch the deck :D

Dashboard Inspirations ?

I'm worried Mike has been abducted by aliens and replaced by a replicant. The old Mike used rmto rock up with gearboxes with no oil in and dashboards and footwells glowed with the light from dodgy connections in the wiring arcing nicely in the early morning mist. Worrying about style based on E type...

Trailing arms ss1turbo

I would imagine it would be easier to make one fully tubular with the exception of the hub mount obviously  Yeah, it has been done, walkers sabre racer had arms made up of various small diameter tubes and had a few driveshaft failures, probably down to flexing. The loads are sizable so needs t...

Trailing arms ss1turbo

Trailing arms can be any design, box section, tublar or fancy folded doesn't matter. So long as the mounts, hub plate and damper mounts are in the right place the rest is immaterial. To be honest there are a few mods that could be introduced to improve strength and longevity if you do proceed with r...

G130 YCF my first sprint car

I'm sure a bigger battery will work fine. My Varley 15 would run 2 x large Spal fans and the leccy water pump flat out for 20 mins after the engine was turned off without going flat, would be a tough call for a 'normal' battery without engine running. But as you say, some extra margin is insurance a...

Charlie Whiting

Charlie and Herbie Blasch both worked for Bernie when he owned Brabham (remember those 1500hp Parmalat sponsored BMW Turbos 8) 8) ), typical Bernie style he looked after his men and took them to run the F1 rights hed just bought. I'm sure Bernie, all the team owners and all drivers will be devastate...
