Thanks Chaps, did fire up the welder for a few mins, but no fun when youre not about crusty to shower in sparks or clatter with the plug :lol:

If the cars original and unmolested, id also suggest a new wastegate actuator. They go soggy with age (dont we all :lol: ) but effectively they creep open early losing performance. From memory they are approx 7psi from the factory but they shouldnt move until that preset whereas with age they start ...

Crouchie, not sure how that will work mate :lol: I know, Claire ordered the 'self cleaning' model :roll: but clearly Muggins didnt... :| To be honest mine only moved today as kids had eaten everything edible and were starting to eye up the Hamster...put a set of new tyres on it 3 days before lockdow...

To be honest, nothing in the books will really assist building the engine, but the externals and ancillaries it will really help 8) As for engine build, best advice is avoid ebay, if its cheap its cheap for a reason. Work out your horsepower level and work from there. DET rebuilt using quality bits ...

I was told to overlap the taped line with a piece of tape but bent up so you get a definitive edge from the main taped line, but then a roof or shelter over it. This gives a slightly more gradual blend and reduces the same level of paint all the way up to the taped line. But youve seen my paint skil...
