SE6/A/B/GTC/MB DRIVERS REMOTE MIRROR FOR SALE.

Got me confused already! I thought GTCs all had 'Esprit' type mirrors, or was that a luxury option? Anyhoo, if you're talking about a passenger side one to match the one in your photos then I'm interested. Could you PM me a photo of the minor dent? I need it for my SE6 which never had a passenger on...

Set timing with iPhone (2.8 Cologne)

I didn't have the courage to put this in the 'How To" section, although it's a true story... My GTC came without the set of 'teeth' used as timing marks. Using its mounting hole as a guide I set the crank nearly enough to TDC, where I noticed that the four bolt heads on the front of the crankshaft w...

Bumper oddity

Hi I was just doing some GRP repairs to the GTC front bumper when I noticed that there's a 'horn' on the upper RHS face beside the main air intake which isn't matched on the LHS. No sign that the bumper's been messed with, and the underside of the car body is moulded to match. IMG_0611.JPG Any ideas...

Thinking about fitting the hood frame.... I see the frame-to-body brackets are slotted, which dimension do these affect? Up/down, fore-aft, left-right, hood tension? Is there any point adjusting them before the hood itself is on?

Too good to be true?

Being a cheapskate I decided to go for the eBay ones, arrived yesterday. The zinc washers look slightly bluish next to the SS nuts but they will do for me. Only problem with fitting was that on 2 of the wheels the recesses for the washers seem a bit small so the washer doesn't go in properly, I'll h...

Carpets question

So I thought I'd just get enough carpet to do the areas I need to and send the floor sections and boot back to get edged. Until Coverdale said they charge £50 per hour plus the edging tape plus 2-way carriage! So I've ordered 2 finished floor sections and 2 metres of loose carpet and I'll sort out t...

Carpets question

I was meaning Coverdale and Classic-Car_Carpets, CCC are in St Helens so not far from Coverdale. Probably just a coincidence.

Carpets question

Good thing I asked! All these experiences sound remarkably like some I had with an outfit called Classic Car Carpets when I did the SE5 a few years ago. Right down to the 'we've never had any issues' line. Although the websites are different the prices are the same and the colour range similar. Wond...

I thought they must be to hold everything in place, but won't the hinges along the sides do that anyway? I suppose it'll all become clear when I eventually fit the frame and see what wobbles about.
The material is there along the frame bars, tbh I thought it was velcro (didn't look very closely)

Carpets question

Just about to order a set from Coverdale for the GTC. So that I won't sound a complete wally on the phone, can I assume that they supply separate pieces to cover the 'sills' around the footwells, rather than moulded all-in-one as the originals

Thanks

Alex.

Nothing to write in about, the car's ready to go to the painter once he finishes up a Brooklands Capri he has in just now. I've just been doing odd jobs like replacing bulbs in the dashboard and some small bodywork jobs. Sold a couple of items on eBay which will pay for carpets and wheel nuts. One t...

Will's GTC disasters

Hello Will I got mine around the same time as you, luckily the chassis swap had already been done. My progress report - http://www.scimitarweb.co.uk/sgwrs/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=35544 When you're ready to swap the mirrors there's a how-to - http://www.scimitarweb.co.uk/sgwrs/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=36768...
