Brass fuel tube thingy... Any ideas what it is?

My thought was based on a conversation overheard: one classic car owner telling another that he got round the lack of leaded petrol by hanging some strips of roof flashing just inside his filler cap. It occurred to me that a real enthusiast and good DIYer might have built his own hefty tube c...

MOT exemption

But aren't the two apparently opposing paragraphs referring to two different situations? The first is saying that when the vehicle is 40, there is no need for the owner to declare that it is VHI (indeed, there is no mechanism by which to do so), but the second is saying that when it is next licensed...

The Ageing Thing Again.....again.

Phil - Sorry, but I had to skip the lock.
I hesitate to point you to the last paragraph of the story, but............... :)

But I'm not quite 80 yet, so let's say you might as well have asked me why the universe and everything in it exists!

What cars did you see today? (Non-Scimitar)

Half way between Essex and here yesterday and going north, both on single carriers: a glistening black mid-fifties Ford Thunderbird, and later a slightly tatty - for resto - dark-coloured 1999 Reliant Robin reg'd in Leeds.
(Note to self: a dashcam might be an idea.........)

The Ageing Thing - again............

….. or The Story of My Life. A Group of guys, all turning 40, discussed where they should meet for lunch. Finally it was agreed that they would meet at Wetherspoons in Uxbridge because the waitresses had big breasts and wore mini-skirts. Ten years later, at age 50, the friends once again discussed w...

Unfortunately we have space issues for parking; can't park end-on as you do. That limitation means SWMBO says I have to sell K before getting another. It's a chicken and egg situation for Solomon, if you'll forgive the mixed metaphor...…….. :bh (I still really want an emoji signifying hysteri...

Thinking about it are you Dave ? - gets a bit lonely having the only Sabre in the NE I was tempted, not arf, but as remarked, I haven't received the inheritance yet - could be months. A bit torn because although Kirsty's not the only SS1 in the NE, I very rarely see others at shows we're at...
