Taps and dies

If you've got a 9/16th UNF die it should fit on a 9/16th UNF bolt. *Unless* perhaps, you regard a 9/16 bolt as one which takes a 9/16 spanner? Bear in mind that spanner sizes are the "AF" "Across Flats"measurement of the bolt head, not the actual bolt size (diameter), so a 9/16th AF spanner fits on...

Taps and dies

Oo-er.
Can only think of UNC/UNF variation, but that'd be too obvious, I'd've thought..............

Non Scim Battery question

If you happen to 'lose' the radio and need a code, if you can get to a main dealer and give them the chassis no., they can usually fetch it up on their PC for you. (Don't know if they'll charge for this. Mine didn't, but it was a few years ago. I get the impression many will make money out of you an...

What is there by Tamworth? Not a lot...………
You knew this was coming!

Oh all right then - I was kidding. (Can't be bothered with Tripadvisor for aforementioned midlands - as opposed to southern - destinations.)

Fantasy Reliant Museum

All of the above - in Tamworth :D Ah, but...………. On the basis that nobody's going to come from Thurso or Land's End on a trip just to see the Museum, other attractions are required for, say, a week's hol. So Harrogate/York is the obvious centre, 'cos you've got North York Moors, Lake District, York...

My old SE5 also had an SU pump fitted thinking about it - conveniently they stop clicking when the float chamber is full. Think mine was from an MGB but managed to keep up with the Essex no problem.
I did the same when I had a 5a. If you do that, don't forget an inertia cut-out switch! :)

that sounds like the wire from the starter motor to the coil is high resistance (ie cooked :D )
Thanks for that, Jim. I'll have a look see if that seems to be problem. :)

Scimitar SE5 will not start

Are you 100% certain about the battery? Only reason I mention it is because on more than one occasion I found that the engine would turn over, but not fire until the starter was just in the off position i.e. that the starter was taking too much out of the system; when it was stopped, there was just ...

New Scimitar Book Published today!

The beer bit appeared in the ridiculously early Jan. 2019 edition of Classic Car Mart.
I was going to ask if anybody had tried it yet...…
