Just for the SSSC gang -especiallyMikey!

Entertaining! :D
I pitied the poor marshals who had to keep rebuilding the chicane. Only a small minority of the cars seemed to be able to go through it safely; the rest appeared not to even realise it was there! ( I assume the drivers had had a pre-run to note the chicane,etc.....)

Difficult (for me) to imagine how anybody could pay so much for taking on so much hard work!

(I had to assume BB's Sabre had sold after spending ten minutes searching for an advert that had been removed.)

Volga, I think.
I think you're right, David. Looks like a Series I (1956-58) judging by the chrome flash at door bottom. (Ref. Wiki)
Thanks.

What cars did you see today? (Non-Scimitar)

In Kiev recently. Most cars are as big and modern as you might expect. Lotsa BMW, Merc, Range/Land Rovers, Land Cruisers, etc. Kss2.jpg Pics show smallest, scruffiest car we saw, alongside the more prolific type. lada1207.jpg A few Ladas. This was one of the smartest, a 2107. Kcc2.jpg The two-tone w...

...given the age of the car it’s likely to be a Sierra unit (OHC/Pinto engine, not the CVH or DOHC version), if the bolts go in from the engine side.
That's a new one on me, Phil, I've always assumed it to be CVH. What other indicators are there to confirm a Sierra one?

Don't you have a set of jump leads Dave ?
I've two sets actually, Peter, but after the battery top up it was fine on a 'proper' battery (condition) tester, so I didn't bother trying a jump. Could bear it in mind if all else fails.

OaS: I'll try it the morrer - thanks.

Thanks for that, Phil.
I didn't notice what happened to the lights. Will check tomorrow and see where the bolts are while there.

Very basic q. here, gents: Came to start SS1 1600 (Kirsty) and got the sticking effect, as if it had hit TDC somewhere and the starter just couldn't push past it. Tried again and got what I think was the solenoid chattering a bit feebly. I seem to remember (last time this happened to me was forty ye...

Stuck bonnet and ignition

The passenger side catch has released but not the drivers side. That happened a few times on Kirsty, but NS jamming when OS released. I found it would release if I parked the car on slightly different levels at front between OS and NS. Must have been due to flexing a slight twist on the chassis. So...
