SS1 Mixture & Running

Could be, Alan!
H.I. wouldn't let me buy another till this one's sold, but this is 'Kirsty', so I'm not for selling.
Will have to trust my proposed mod works!

SS1 Mixture & Running

No, all it did was replace the bi-metallic - which, as I said, I found out after was still working OK, but the manual conversion bit I bought had no indication that it involved the fast idle. BTW, if I was feeling really rich or stupid or both, I could go for this (just found): https://www.ebay.co.u...

SS1 Mixture & Running

As noted in my earlier, I've been offered alternatives, but don't know yet what they might be, so could end up sticking to my current route. If I do, i...

Philip - This is starting to sound more complex. What's the difference from the existing one?

Jim - thanks for that; a good start for some soundings. Not sure about the water operated choke - small added complication, but not insurmountable. :D

SS1 Mixture & Running

Update - much later 'cos the rest of life keeps getting in the way - and on reflection, should a mod. transfer this to the SS1 section? Anyway. The manual choke kit, purchased for nearly £30, was a waste of time and money. After clearing out all the broken bits, and by some experimentation, I realis...

Roof Rack for SE5a

I don't think I'd trust Scim gutters. I just feel they can't be as strong as welded on steel ones. :(

Sorry, been away.
Thanks, gents - just what's required for the 'other club's clientele!

Is it just me, or are most classic car photos online now monopolised by Pinterest?

Good or Appropriate Number Plates

On the M1 this pm: a 2016 Vauxhall (missed model) 77 AAA and HI spotted a Renault Clio with reg. ND18 OPG. It's literally only one letter different from our postcode, as long as you count the O as zero........

Well, it's a bit different.....
