"I thought I'd just put the brakes together and drive it"...

Hey guys, I got the fuel lif sealed up with a new seal.. I am curious if it really is tight, but looks like... Fueled up yesterday with the new one and had some hard accelerations to have the gasoline swap around. So far no stains on the bumper... The seal itself I found useful from a Volvo Amazon o...

Coupe Build From Australia

As always nice work. (... at some point we all will have to stop saying this, or the full thread will read as a prayer to the Coupe-God :) :) ) Commented per PM on the Diaphragms already. I had sunbeamspares diaphragms fitted to my SE5A seats that are also on a Sunbeam Tiger. Coupe seats are slightl...

Princess Anne alloys

All my PAs (14 and 15") have the same 1/2" wheelstuds, long shank (0.75 to 0.8") width and 3/4" Shank Diameter... Paid between ~300-400 GBP per set of 4 15" PAs and 5 14" PAs ~3 Years ago iirc. the 14" Set is still original and not prepared. Currently I am keeping them as I like the 14" ride comfort...

Hey guys, after the winterbrake I revitalized the Scimitar today with no issues... It seems I should adjust the GAZ Suspension properly at some point, feels a bit swampy.... It was a matter of putting the chared battery in again and turn the key twice like usual...... First turns for some second get...

GTE rear light nylon/plastic fixing 'clips'

I saved all the original Metal inserts in the lenses, filed them flat, soldered a M3 hex spacer to them or drilled and tapped a M3 thread into them, where still in good shape. Then I uses stainless M3 Bolt (guess they where 60mm?) some plastic hex spacers screwed onto them for better handling and so...

engine number identification : advice

My engine isn't original anymore.. The SC is not there. I got a Capri or Granada Engine beginning with Ford numbers. (unless very late 5a s had Ford numbers, but even 6 and 6as had SC Essex). Mine is TR03519 HYB (Essex 3 Liter is HY engine type) I guess an engine rebuilder would reuse the Engine num...

SE5a new member - chassis help wanted

... need to admit I like silver Scimitars... And I do not like a lot of silver cars :) (...) So I got underneath to have a good old poke around, chassis is generally solid as appeared on viewing. Side rails and rollover bar mounts have been repaired in the past and out riggers seem ok. However, to m...

Is a 5A improved over a 5 ?

3 spoke Steering wheel on SE5 looks WAY better than the bloody 2 spoke Unit in the 5a. Swapped against 5 wheel in my 5y. But the 5a is made of thicker aluminium and potentially more sturdy... Just broke my 3 spoke, which is obviously is not the only occasion where this happens... personally I like t...

Earthing Rear Lights

I disassembled the standard rear light bulbholders and soldered earth wires to each of them... This properly sealed through the rubber caps and earthed to the chassis with eye terminals and stainless steel toothed washers works well until now. A little wax helps to seal it up. Also to mount it on th...
