Advice for a respray SE5a

Did my Coupe with water based paint and found it very forgiving and much easier to apply than cellulose or twin pack - you still need to put lacquer on top though and I have used Max Meyer which I also find to be relatively easy to use. My previous attempts with twin pack and cellulose were shall w...

Advice for a respray SE5a

That's all very good information. From what you say it is possible to use air drying type products over the right sort of base but, sadly for me and others brought up on the old cellulose type products,I have to acknowledge that the end result is rather soft and not that durable. I suppose solvent ba...

Advice for a respray SE5a

From what the OP says it seems like he wants to do the work himself? I agree with what's said above about correct preparation and using the best modern materials, however these materials do not lend themselves to home diy use.Modern two pack materials demand careful use to avoid damaging your own hea...

Looking for advice

The PA is a pre war open two seater and will be loved by fanatics of that sort of car but I would say definitely not a day to day useable proposition. The YB is an early 50s four door saloon, more useable than a PA,but would demand a lot of attention to keep on the road and would be very slow by mode...

Coupe project nearly done

Photos the right way up plus some of the interior and under bonnet would help a lot with the sale.
Sorry you cannot enjoy the car any longer,I know myself how the advancing years take their toll!

Coupe for sale @ Percival Motors

As for the Straight Six at Percival, on first looks its either on the money or cheap. I'd guess at on the money. Remember the solid grey one they had for £20K that didn't hang around too long and this one has a few issues such as the paint mismatch, lack of underside photos like the other one had a...

Coupe for sale @ Percival Motors

A lot more expensive than the V6 one on C and C (see below).
Appears to have a paint mismatch on one of the doors?

Very original looking V6 Coupe

If as good as it appears in the pictures it seems rather a bargain.
Cars that look no better have sold for a lot more!

Colour issue

Did Mulberry replace the very similar (to my eyes) Beaujolais red which was a popular colour on 5s?

SE5 with V8 engine for sale

I think you would be advised to take some advice from a club member near to you.

I believe the car could, dependant on overall condition,be worth a fair bit more than your suggested price.

BMW325i anyone ?

Assuming it eventually runs OK and gets an MOT,it doesn't appear a lot different from examples on C and C priced around £20K...

Car SOS

When Mike Brewer was judging the concours at the Silverstone Classic a couple of years ago, we tackled him about it, and he said that they would love to do one, but whenever they looked at it, they weren't able to work out a way of making it viable (even using the way they cost things, which isn't ...

Car SOS

I find it a matter of regret that neither Wheeler Dealers or Car SOS have done a Scimitar (of any type)...yet both have done a Morris Minor,a popular car in it's day but also a rather boring one.
