SE5a battery positive cable

Geraint.
Just checked and the positive cable in your photo is for a SE6a(b?SE8?) but it is probably - if anything - longer than the SE5a so still interested in purchase if available.

Will,
PM sent.

SE5a battery positive cable

Interesting. Thanks Roger. I'm thinking maybe a good compromise between originality (noting your signature phrase in red above! ) and fool-proofing would be a red shrink-sleeve at the battery end or, if the insulation is too crunchy, cover the whole thing in red shrink sleeve. Geraint, How mu...

SE5a battery positive cable

I may be better to get one made, 40 years of engine heat take its toll on the insulation, the one pictured is hard as rock! That is helpful :) So there is the bracket :!: The plate and grommet in your picture suggests there should maybe be a second hole specifically for the starter cable. I don't s...

SE5a battery positive cable

Any help would be appreciated as I try and reverse 43 years of electrical bodgineering. 40 odd years ago that may have been essentialneering (budgets where tight and joe / joanne had to get to work or he/ she would not get paid ) A PO obviously had an earthing issue due to the rusty front steelwork...

SE5a battery positive cable

Yes, that's the one but I am a bit confused. It looks like the battery connector is at the starter end :?: :? .
Am I correct in thinking there is a clip at the engine mount à la SE6a? I don’t have a 5a parts catalogue to check.

Thanks both.
I will wait for your PM Jim. No hurry. I can crack on with other stuff.

Thanks Geraint. Lets see how Jim gets on.

SE5a battery positive cable

I am looking for the positive battery cable (battery to starter via multi-connector) for an SE5a. Annoyingly I saw one at Scimfest and hesitated about purchase because I didn't realise at the time how bad mine was  . Any help would be appreciated as I try and reverse 43 years of electrical bod...

water in sump

This is mine as assembled (Payen gasket, heads have been 'kissed' rather than skimmed). I will be trimming them flush but not too bad as is.

Would be interested in the battery +ve cable (from terminal to starter via a terminal block?) if you have it.
Now PMed (just re-read your first post  )

Cooling Fan

CLM 2010 was hotter than 2018 8) bonnet vents only work at slow/no forward speed. If your cooling system is that marginal that you feel the need to cut holes in the bonnet, I’d look at that first  I note Mr D Star seems to live in France which I guess means a higher ambient temperature to ...

Cooling Fan

I retrofitted a Citroen BX fan 'back in the day' and fitted it in the ducting using the original loom and plug - not on the radiator (which has needed changing a couple of times since). Not much chance of finding one now but the point is I measured the current flow when fitted and it was 50% higher ...

SS1 soft top please

Ok, ordered the working man's heavy duty vynl one. Cheapest option. I am sure I may regret it in the future. This is one instance when I think originality trumps upgrading (a subjective judgment of course). A major part of the design brief for the SS1 was maximum fun at minimum price and I don't th...

Spegru SE6a

Must get one of those black plastic thingys. If I adjust the latch tight enough to prevent rattling, I have to slam the tailgate to close it which is a stressful experience with a glass panel.
