Goldie the Coupe

I had a chance to buy this, bit gutted I didn’t, but I had to take a sensible pill and hold off buying anything else until I’ve sold a few. Hope it’s as good as it looked!

1973 SE5a GTE fast road or sprint/hillclimb car

My recently resurrected and modified GTE is for sale. I decided to build this to compete in due to my regular completion car suffering a terminal engine fault early in the season. Unfortunately I didn’t get it finished in time so it’s never run in anger. The car is finished to MOT standard however a...

Chassis modifications for roll cage fitment?

I was just referring to this situation really. I see what you’re saying regarding road going though, just can’t see anyone caring enough for it to become an issue in practice?

Chassis modifications for roll cage fitment?

Specialist modified production does not require an A licence and a SE5 qualifies..Not sure why people seem to overlook this all of the time when putting engine swaps straight into Libre??

Drive shaft sliding yoke sizes??

Well I haven’t come across this problem before, so I’m hoping others have and can shed some light on it.. My 5a has a type 5 4 speed non O/D box. The sliding yoke is pitted and no longer sealing. Seems like a simple job, and I took my 25 spline yoke to a local propshaft place and they provided me wi...

LRP 335E Sprint Coupe

Looks like a severe lack of lubricant - blocked oilway in the crank or did the holes not match? Did the crank survive and just trash the bearing (beaten by Josh)? The crank isn’t bad and it hasn’t been ground so that’s not an issue.. From what I remember they have a locator so you can’t get them wr...

Did your “running in procedure” involve disconnecting the dry sump or filling it with some kind of cooking oil...?! :w
 No, it involved taking it to the rolling road for half a day with several power runs followed by some very reserved practice runs at Curborough...

Are there better alternative bearing available?
Seems a shame to reverse so much hard work
Not a chance

Have you put a Vernier on it to check the wear?
You think it’s marginal Josh??

LRP 335E Sprint Coupe

I’ve got the engine and box out of the car and stripped the engine to find out what went wrong!? The big end bearing for cylinder no.1 gave a bit of a clue... 4FCAF6BD-3D79-486A-A769-E698994EBF55.jpeg The eagle eyed should be able to spot some wear which could cause the noises experienced at Anglese...

LRP 335E Sprint Coupe

It’s the furthest forward one.. It’s possible the Essex might go that far back as the bell housing is longer, and it would save getting another prop done too. I’ll give it a go before doing anything with the box

I need to decide what gearbox to use too??
The T5 you already have, with a new bellhousing.
Lever would be way too far forward or engine too far back?
