XRF 976H ex Reliant press car

It’s a bit of a eye opener , many people buy a Scimitar as it doesn’t rust , if a reasonable good car like this is suffering problems then there must be many resto projects and barn finds out there that are hiding far worse secrets . I have no doubts that once done this will be a stunning car ? My ...

Fein multitool, it’s no exaggeration to say it’s an absolute revelation when cutting GRP, 1mm cut and you can cut a near perfect straight line and even curves with minimal dust.. Unlike the snow storm caused with slitting discs and flap wheels on a grinder  https://fein.com/en_uk/m/oscillators/...

Well the drivers side that looked absolutely perfect with no distortion, perfectly straight sill.. is actually completely rotten! The sill reinforcement is not quite as bad as the passenger side, and the fibreglass used to hold it in place has remained intact hence the straight sill. The hinge plate...

looks great. Last year I also bought a rx8 5 speed and adaptor plate to put behind the essex but the omega 3.2 made that redundant !
I’m sure you’re not too concerned about that now!!

I’m putting an RX8 box in my road GTE, so I’ll find out all about that then..

Sorry for the late reply, I’m not getting notifications anymore!? My descision to go with the 6 speed rather than the 5 is based on the final drive used in the MX5, the 5 speed car uses a 4.1 and the 6 uses a 3.7 which is closest to the ratio in the Coupe.. If it’s wrong I’ll swap it, or fit the T5 ...

That’s the cover I want, Focus one would look rubbish..

As the Mustang boxes are over £2k second hand, I shall be trying a MX5 6 speed which shares the bolt pattern

Are you replacing it in a slightly less destructive manner?? I will need the same, for both sides at some point ? After looking closer at the d...

Fits ok too, little tight around the steering column, but I managed to get good clearance on the wastegate actuator and enough room for the downpipe.

OK enough of the suspense, what engine is it ?
Ha, sorry Mikey I thought it had been outed!! It’s a 2.3 Ecoboost out of the latest Focus RS, similar to the one used in the Mustang too.. 350hp and similar torque in standard form..
