Rear brakes 1992 Sabre

Thanks Jim. As to telling him I do Peter. The irony is he inevitably ends up getting his parts from Nigel. Don't know why he doesn't go straight to our traders. Can't convince him that doing this would save him time in the end and ensure he gets the correct parts.

Thanks again

Can anyone please confirm what the brakes are on the rears of 1992 Sabre?

Sabre 1400 ground clearance

The new owner of the Sabre I bought in Sept 2015 has been told by his local garage that the car sits too low and that in their opinion it had been lowered. I told him that unless the garage were experienced in servicing these cars he should in general ignore them. Despite my reassurances that I beli...

SST RECORDS, HELP PLEASE

Hi Mark Sold mine last year. SST - No9.jpg Was chassis No.9 according to the Vin plate and small ali plate in the engine bay and first registered Aug 1990 if I recall correctly. Engine was Nissan 1.8 Turbo. Reg documents listed it as SCIMITAR Ti. When I asked the DVLA to correct the description they...

roadworthy ss1's

If I recall earlier posts last year it was established that the red Sabre I had was in fact an SST built in 1991 which had the flares etc added by factory prior to being sold & first registered in 1992. The 1990 SST I recently sold to Andrew in Cornwall was listed on the documents as a Scimitar 1.8Ti.

SS1 Hardtop

Hardtop for SS1 covered in black vinyl - no sunroof. Has a 'C' reg number engraved on the rear screen. I believe heated rear window does work. Not sure condition of interior trim as previous owner had taped in a carpet sample which fits quite well and looks pretty good. P1020702.JPG P1020701.JPG P10...

As to water ingress had no idea this had occurred. Did have same problem with the last Sabre I had and cured it by drilling a couple of small 'drain' holes in the bottom of the reflector.

With regard to the headlight units I had replaced a few years ago they were shallow Wipac units.

With regard to the brake kit I sold to Andrew with car perhaps this will guide those who wish to help him through the fitment etc. This kit was purchased from Andy Luckman quite q few years ago during the early years of my ownership which I had then stored in the garage fro an 'as & when' fitment. A...

starter motor not starting sst

Glad to hear that you have solved the starting problem Andy. I knew it had to be something that could be resolved fairly easily although do appreciate that having such an inconvenient and troublesome start to your ownership of the car was not the beginning you expected. However hopefully from now on...
