Phil, which fuel tank did you use. Mk1 or mk2 focus. The mk1 seems to have a separate standard fuel pump. The mk2 has fuel pump in tank. ? Just ideas about creating a workbench to see if I can get the engine running before fitting.

The Green Machine - Sprint Car Build

We, hang on, what have I missed??!! You built another car to compete whilst the Coupe sulked, and now you are gonna flog it leaving you with a Coupe and an engine you've lost the love for, or a winter's work to graft a boat anchor back in there, yes? That’s a fine summary mate!! And the boat ...

Ben. Yes 600 miles a week. 8) . Not all year round but certainly that in the summer, less in the winter. That is why I want to move away from the Essex. It just doesn't like it, especially in a race tune and very low geared (only have a four speed box. 70mph is 4250 revs.) I was fitting a RX8 5 spee...

After Market ECU

Ben Aim is two cars. One for road, one for racing. The orange car will be the road car with modern engine. When in use it currently does 600 miles a week. I want suspension softer, ride height higher, lpg for the economy. The engine did not come with an ecu. I need one. Canems said they can supply a...

But OEM ecu for sparks is an option
No, if you’re using anything apart from a piggyback ECU, you don’t keep the OEM ECU at all. Canems etc must control spark, to map against the fuel.
Ah, ok thanks

Agreed, Lozz Has two maps, Petrol and lpg. David from canems had used his ecu to drive a lpg only x30se Vauxhall v6 as a daily driver. Complete coincidence but that is my plan. No Petrol at all. Just lpg. One ecu.

But OEM ecu for sparks is an option

That’s a relief! From what I’ve seen, an LPG ECU sits on top of a Petrol one - am I reading correctly that you were trying to go with Canems to provide an ECU to provide sparks and running the LPG injectors, ignoring Petrol? I’ve got a bit lost here... ATP remanufacture/repair OEM ECUs. Peter - sou...

I had a piggy-back LPG ECU on my P38 Range Rover, do they exist for the Omega Engine or can you still get them made? LPG ECUs (or emulators if you’re going redneck) don’t care what Petrol ECU they sit on the back of. Mikey - for using a mixer LPG system you’ve got the wrong engine as I mentioned wh...

Can anyone recommend after market ECU / supplier I need one for the V6 omega engine conversion, sparks and lpg injection required. Canems , the preferred supplier, appear to be in meltdown. Megasquirt: seems to be after market builders of the ECU rather than the actual supplier The costs are about £...
