I googled the error message verbatim and got lost in coders talk on the PHP forum :?
I'm not surprised! There seem to be a few possible causes of it, totally unrelated to the RSS Smartfeed. I'm still looking but difficult to diagnose if I can't reproduce it. :( :w

Photobucket

I've been hearing that Photo***** has plugged this hole and that the published fixes, and the one I've applied here, are no longer working. Can anyone confirm this?

My RSS Feed

I'm sorry Tony, I just can't see what is going wrong. For me it generates and tests ok and works in the Feedly newsreader app. This has been ok for me since I updated the feed software to the latest version.

Smartfeed Issues

That same message appeared when I tested it this morning. I've just updated the Smartfeed software to the latest recently released version and it seems to generate and test OK. Hope it's solved now.

I'm applying some more suggested tweaks, others appear to have mixed results with them, but have no way to test the effectiveness of them. If anyone who routinely has the problem notices any differences in behaviour over the next few days please let me know here.

it seems to be a Windows/iOS conflict. Close, from what I've been reading. It seems that most people blame Apple because they have implemented the orientation part of the EXIF data in the image differently to others. But I don't think it's just an Apple problem though. There's enough of an issue th...

I'm going to need some help with this :w   In testing on the development system I can't get any images to be wrongly oriented. I have an Samsung android phone and a Lenovo android tablet at my disposal. No problems using either of them. I need someone who has these problems to describe p...

Thanks Roger. I'll look further into it. Someone out there must have found a fix for it.

System Crash - Wed 13 Sept 2017

It took me a while to pluck up the courage and get round to the necessary Linux Kernel upgrade on our server, but I've done it today. There were a few short interruptions to normal service. I hope no-one was very inconvenienced. The system should now be a bit more stable.

System Crash - Wed 13 Sept 2017

Well, it wasn't a hacking attack, thank goodness. It appears to be a bug right in the Linux Kernel of the system. A very low level software problem. Once I'd seen a couple of warnings in the diagnostics I ran tonight it pointed me in the direction of others who have experienced the same or similar p...

System Crash - Wed 13 Sept 2017

I am intending to run a diagnostic and repair utility on the server this evening to see if it can find anything wrong. It is very greedy on server resources though, so response may slow down considerably and some actions may fail. There is also an outside chance that it could bring the server down a...
