Is it possible the cars had a MC change and the fluids been in the servo ever since?
That is possible, though it would have been quite a while ago. I'm just surprised there was no tell-tail signs, like white smoke, but then if the non-return vacuum valve is working, there probably shouldn't be.

I mounted mine on the side, using the engine and dynamo mountings.

My midlife GTC

I've been overhauling the brakes for the past few months. Today I removed the servo (which was a tad awkward getting to the top right securing nut as seen looking up the footwell - only to find it was loose - possibly never tightened when fitted, as it is so awkward to get a spanner or socket on it ...

Red GTC on M40 / M25

Yes, number plate is just not quite legible :(
I've tried cross referencing with the register many possibilities, but not got a match (I.e. possible match - wrong colour)
Therefore, unless someone can read it better than I can, or admits it's them :P , it might not be on the register...

P.S. Chris, now I've found my list, I will cross-check with yours and see if I have any other cars you don't :D Chris, nothing stands out. Maybe a couple of different letters, but you've got more :D I'm afraid I can't remember now Guy, it was too long ago and I don't have any photos of the suspensi...

Barons 11 December 2018 SE4 - £12K!!

Its mad to think that reference in the add to the car having a Mays Head has been removed so quickly, Barons are watching. Its all a bit 1984. Then perhaps they should change the bit where triple SUs are stated as an option where in fact they were standard. Sadly the motor trade consists of people ...

Hi Chris. My point was that the chassis numbers aren't indicative of the model and it's the overlap details which would be of interest (to me, at least). And to me too :) Okay, there isn't a "model" derivative in the Straight Six's, but its well documented that the rear suspension was modifi...

Doesn't anybody proof read an advert these days, for simple things like spelling and grammar... oh and facts

It looks nice enough though

Chris, no.696 TPF601F has been spotted a few times this year by a work colleague, in Dorset. It was sold by a trader earlier this year if I recall, so could very well be it's new home (no longer Essex)

Trying to get through the straight sixes. I have 'found' CAN 170D, owner G Curry of Kirkby, Merseyside But the chassis number shown 0257 is the same as HEG 387D. Unlikely that anyone would exchange those plates so one of them is probably chassis 0256 - but which  There is actually a photo of ...

Coupe Register

"Buxton Scimitar" - the dark blue with gold 5-spoke alloys - was built by a guy near Stokenchurch, Bucks., in the early 1990's. Featured on the cover of Slice 122 (Nov-Dec 1991). Cannot remember the full spec now, but it was a very nice V8 conversion. The manifold downpipes were a hand-crafted work ...

GTC802V & EOE417V featured in Autocar Magazine

I agree that they did have a history of using fake plates on publicity photos, but it's surely less likely that they would send out cars for independent road tests with them fitted? My thoughts too. If the car was being loaned to a magazine that intended to use it for testing, then it should have b...

GTC802V & EOE417V featured in Autocar Magazine

As they were "official" magazine test reports, I'd guess they were factory cars. Maybe they were re-registered prior to sale, and are still out there somewhere? That is the conclusion I'm coming to. Dave Poole has shared details of many of the GTC features in magazines, and both these cars feature ...
