Which period-correct alloys??

Sounds silly, but in fact I have different alloys each side of the Calibra.
When a VW Golf wrote itself off on my left rear wheel the same wheel was no longer available.
His insurance agreed that it was not reasonable to have odd wheels - but they would only pay for two

Yes, the motor makes a strange noise - but it does run.
I think the reason it is not turning the engine is that the solenoid is not engaging the pinion.
If that makes sense.

Which period-correct alloys??

Yes but we are talking about spacing out a wheel which has not enough offset in order to correct it.
Unless it is also wider than the original.

Which period-correct alloys??

Yes, Coupés are on 15 inch wheels.
Why do you want to stay on 14 inch?

Incidentally, that car is in the USA, it is the one I found behind a toy store in Manchester CT

Right, Nigel has it sorted. It is none of the models pictured above but (probably) this one, which Nigel proposes at a very reasonable price. Mind you, considering the weight of the thing it will probably cost me a fortune in postage ... Just to keep up with the 'project', I started to dismount the ...

How bloody stupid. The infection rate is much lower in France than in the UK. And death rates (which are more significant - after all if you test more people you are bound to find more infected) are falling consistently. Currently, if you believe all deaths are from connerie virus UK 0,07% France 0,...

As I have come to expect from Ford, there are several different starter motors for the Scorpio. Visibly the silver ones have a mounting hole below the solenoid which mine hasn't. The black one might be ok, I must check if I have a third mounting bolt top left, but the italian seller will not post to...

Umm, if it is off the donor Scorpio I suppose it's Bosch.
But the alternator was Lucas off the Essex until I changed it.
I presume it is specific to the engine ?

Latest news
I connected a jump lead to the battery +ve and then to the solenoid - huge clunk click
Then to the motor terminal, it runs fine, though it sounds a bit rough
Then to both at the same time, it doesn't turn the engine
Conclusions?
