RETROPOLIS Easter2019 #2

Ok, I had to research this one. The Simca in question does claim to be a 'Le Mans Coupé' I think it is a figment of someone's imagination because it is the only example to be found on internet. I haven't time to search old Le Mans entry lists 8) I have even a photo of its construction, which appears...

RETROPOLIS Easter2019 #2

I think the best was in the car park, we need a photo of Candy  Nice report Ian, in the absence of a Scimitar I'll take the Cobra thanks. Or the Marcos - this is a well known example. The TVR is tasty too. The Simca is not a Le Mans (which was a much later CG model I think) but a late '30's...

Norwegian visitor at Golfe-Juan

MENSUEL DU THEATRE DE LA MER, GOLFE-JUAN (06) As usual the gloomy weather forecast was wrong and we had a fine morning for the monthly meeting at Golfe-Juan. Having covered very nearly 5 km to get there I could only stand in reverence in front of the BMW 3.0CS which arrived from Norway  There...

Roger's Scimitars - New Season Starts!

There are two more Jags behind, and a Scimitar!

Yes I love the V8-250.
I actually had a Jaguar version but the Daimler is better.
I expect it rusts just as quickly though

Rear screen seals

Oops, sorry it is apparently the rear side window seals.

Any ideas on these, I have never even looked closely at them.

Stuck distributor

Yes, as I have been known to say, WD40 is not a penetrating oil / unseizing fluid.
PlusGas is not available here but Bardhal penetrating fluid is radical (and expensive).

Peter Wernham

Sadly Peter Wernham lost his battle against cancer on 30 march. Scimitarist since forever, he brought his SE6a the Flying Banana to France and registered it in Haute Vienne (dept 87) He was one of the first members of Scimitar France. Peter felt obliged to sell the car because of ill-health four or ...

Rear screen seals

Robert Bonetto asks for advice on fitting new rear screen seals : I have a SE6A and I have the seals of the rear windows which are damaged with important entries of water. So I ordered a set of seals at Graham Walker and asked my coachbuilder to change them. However, he does not dare to start becaus...

Well, if that's the only difference why not drill three more holes in the collar?
