What a great effort by Timpsons I will do a fuller write up of this little adventure in the near future, just so happy with this positive outcome after so many knock backs.

The response of a digital meter is too fast for a square wave source. The needle of a proper meter integrates the pulses and gives an average.
Like RMS?

Yes you are right about the cutting they have 10 "letters" along the shaft, today's machines can only do up to 8 (if you can find a locksmith who does this). I actually have the Haynes workshop manual for the donor. It seems fairly straightforward to change the switch if it matches (as the mojo only...

Evening all. Just a wee question for you all, those who have fordy based vehicles of that era has anybody successfully had a duplicate key cut? It seems that time is catching up on those with these items. Modern key cutters, and I have tried several today in the city, are lost as computer says no. I...

20psi coolant pressure?

Hmm. My 18yr old quattro never lost a drop until cx'd, on spec, the water pump along with a shedload of "stuff" because we were in there. It had a pink stain on the bottom from the gland seal. I've spent 2 yrs going around discovering new weeps, drips and at times spurts! But I'm happy that it will ...

Hi there

Reading between the lines you have joined for CVH related reasons..... Do tell? Fair cop! Yes I've been scouring around trying to find information about Aldon Amethyst~cvh ignition seems a bit of a black hole... It's really quite frustrating when you are trying to get decent "gen".. Having said tha...

Engine, preserving for long term storage?

Yes, you need to be a club member to access the archives. All of the threads I can see concern the GTE but I can confirm from one, that it works with the Ford Duraspark as fitted to the Cologne. ScimmyMike asked Aldon the question. It's always good to find a site of fellow enthusiasts regardless of...

Engine, preserving for long term storage?

Why would you turn over a completely dry engine with no chance of replacing any oil squeezed out from bearings to be replenished before you do it again !! All you need is a dry an atmosphere in there as possible. By all means a good slug of straight oil down the bores and anywhere you can. Some sma...

Engine, preserving for long term storage?

Actually I came on here after a google search for -wait for it- aldon amethyst directed here. Unfortunately thread is no longer in Archives or I'm not permitted access. Which is a shame as Aldon seem ..reluctant...[pun fully intentional] to advise on cvh installation. Now before we start, I'm lookin...

TYRES AGAIN

Rain expert and R888R don’t readily compare IMO, ones a road tyre that’s okay on a track and great in the wet, the latter is a “road legal” track tyre that’s no good in the wet. Apparently the Rainsport 3 is the “performance” version of the rain expert? I have RS3 on the sprint car (and this years ...

TYRES AGAIN

Can I add Uniroyal rain expert 3's to the list? All my cars now run on uniroyals from 175 60-10 to 225 40-18, I will say that if you're looking for that last 10th then look else where but they are relatively soft {20k from a set on the quattro] offer outstanding wet weather performance and basically...
