Re: Oil cock up. (diesel / petrol ??)

Hey Steve, Well, a good few Reliant staff went to DeLorean, and then when that wonderful endevour to create a cheap-ish, practical rust-free vehicle went pop, a number then decamped to the employ of the manuacturer of my most vehicle aquisition. Riddle me this: Its wheels number 3, but is not a Robi...

Re: Oil cock up. (diesel / petrol ??)

For info, on the recommendation of John Wade, I used diesel oil (10-40) in the Cologne (after an oil flush, run with the old oil for a few miles prior to change There is a post about this somewhere). He recommended this due to the propensity for the cologne motor to sludge up. The extra detergents i...

Re: low oil pressure

PITA on a Cologne engined 6B, but certainly possible. IIRC, you need to remove the brake ?balancer?/ union on the front cross member, and the starter, but not impossible. 50psi 2000 rpm hot and about 10 at hot idle. My GTC ran around 50psi at 2000 / 20-25 at idle. Sounds about right. John Wade alway...

Re: Trouble at the top.......

Wonderful, thank you Steve. Quite sad as well I thought.

I know very little about the long lingering death of the company, and have just read the Wikipedia page, but how did heynes venture finally fail and his involvement cease? What did he do afterwards?

Cheers,

Re: Front crank seal replacement - help

Mike, Just a thought, seeing as you will likely have it off... I thoroughly recommend the one piece rubber sump gasket from the 2.9 motor. Far superior to the 4 piece cork and rubber one you have pictured. Thread here http://www.scimitarweb.co.uk/sgwrs/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14919&hilit=rubber+sump+gas...
